[JBoss-user] JBoss integrated with CapeConnect
As a response to quite a lot of customer requests, I have spent the last while putting together a tutorial on JBoss integration with CapeConnect Web Services platform. This tutorial is now available from our developer site http://www.capescience.com/tutorials/jboss and I would love any feedback from this group? It is also deployed live on our developer box (here is the WSDL interface http://live.capescience.com/wsdl/ReservationAgent.wsdl ), using the Abc Car Rental code (http://jaba.sourceforge.net/ ) deployed in JBoss, so you can test directly against it over HTTP, using a range of generated client. The following is a reference to the clients that we have looked at so far .NET (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/capeclear/message/462 ) Java (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/capeclear/message/480 ) SOAP (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/capeclear/message/483 ) JSP (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/capeclear/message/498 ) In future publication of CapeScience we will clean these messages up into a respectable howto, but right now any feed back on their content would be welcome. You can also test this service live on our server, using the pregenerated (or one I prepared earlier, to use proper cooking program lingo ;)) JSP client available at http://live.capescience.com:8200/ReservationAgent . I would just like to add my congratulations on getting to version 3.0 of this fantastic application server. Having used it again over the last month, it reminded me of what a pleasure it is to use and I just want to wish you guys all the best in the future. [JBoss-user] Integrating JBoss with CapeConnect
I like to apologies for cross posting here but wasn’t quiet sure where this really belonged. Someone posted a question to the Cape Clear bulletin board wondering how to integrate CapeConnect Web Services server with the JBoss application server? I have reproduced here a brief howto to get anyone who is interested started. Yes we have integrated Connect with JBoss and here are some docs to get you started, 1. Add this entry to your servermap.xml, which can be found in %CAPECONNECT_HOME%\xmlengine\conf directory, specify the correct path to the client libraries on your machine JBoss server settings name="java.naming.factory.initial" value="org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory"/> name="C:\appserver\jboss-3.0.0RC1_tomcat-4.0.3\client\jboss-client.jar"/> 2.Add to following lines to the %CAPECONNECT_HOME%\xmlengine\conf\server.policy file: grant{ permission java.security.AllPermission; }; To test do the following: 3.Deploy %CAPECONNECT_HOME%\demos\j2ee\cc-j2ee\hello\lib\hello-cc.jar into JBoss by simply dropping it into JBoss the deploy dir, 4. In the CapeConnect console, goto Edit->Web Service Setting and change the server setting for hello-cc entry to use JBOSS You should then be able to invoke the stateless session bean from JBoss as a Web Service. RE: [JBoss-user] Full EJB 2.0 Support ?
Jim, Thanks very much for that I will check out the mailing list. Eoin -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Jim Archer Sent: 19 May 2001 17:52 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [JBoss-user] Full EJB 2.0 Support ? Well, I woulden't know off the top of my head how to do a full review, but I can say I have been very happy with it. It implements pretty much all of EJB 2.0 PFD1, including QL. It works by taking an EJB 2.0 jar and writing EJB 1.1 BMP code, which it then packages into a new jar file. I then take that jar and package it into an EAR file. It all deploys fine. I have not run into any problems with it that MVC Soft didn't solve quickly. I really can't say how it impacts performance, since I have no EJB 1.1 CMP or BMP code to compare it to. It is well supported. MVC Soft has an excellent track record of fixing discovered problems very quickly. A far as I know, its mail list at yahoo groups is open to all, so you could check out the archive. As for dependents, I guess I have to go code them out of my product. I did use them in several EBs and now I have to pay the price of being on the bleedig edge. Of course, th PM dossen't support local interfaces and other PFD2 features. I don't know what the plan is for supporting PFD2. You can just not use them. If you hav any specific questions I'll do my best to answer them.
