Re: [JOYnet] Testimony - The power of Rosary
Hi All, I too have a small experience that increased my faith in Mother Mary tremendously. This was very very long back but I can never forget the experience all my life... I had a fight at home and my mom din't speak to me...nobody spoke.Scoldings are okay but not speaking at all was a little tough to handle.I was thoroughly guilty about my pathetic behaviour and decided to spend some time in the chapel adjacent to college.Fortunately there was nobody in church that odd hour..the atmosphere was very prayerful.I told Mother Mary with all my sincerity to touch me for once..I'll never fight again..just one more chance..and I could feel her presence..she was very compassionate , she did touch me, I suddenly felt a great peace flowing into me, ...it was a magic moment for me, she was there and I could feel it.This instilled a lot of faith in me in Mother Mary. She is adorable. There is no way that you call upon Mother Mary and she doesn't answer you! Just have to tell her.. I have my aunt who is a spiritual counsellor. She told me that this prayer "Ethrayum dhayayulla Madhavae" in malayalam ( don't know what it is in English) is very powerful and you should keep telling it very often..(all the time she actually said!) while travelling or doing any work at home... I haven't been saying the rosary seriously for quite some days now...either I am too tired or too sleepy and I end up saying the "Nnama Niranja Mariyamae" (Hail Mary) instead of "Parishudha Mariyamae" (Holy Mary)and sometimes say "Swargasthanaya pithavae"(Our Father) all of a sudden when everybody is telling the Litany! and wake up from my deep slumber when my cousin starts giggling. Will say the rosary from now on with greater dedication. Thanks a great deal to Prejomy, Tina and Sanju for the sharing... came across these cute words ..."How do I love thee?Let me count the ways.I will love thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach." Love and Prayers, Pretty Hyd'bad/India. Sanju Joseph <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Dear Bros and Sis, Got to write something when it is about Mama Mary. So here are some of my experiences. I think my relationship with Mother Mary has grown from strength to strength over the years by the grace of God. And now I run unto her as a powerful intercessor and a protector from the wiles of the enemy. Thanks to the wonderful directions given to all of us by Her during the powerful apparitions happening at Medjugorje and many other parts of the world. Right from my school days by Gods grace I used to be among the scoring students. But never ever in my entire years of education had I got the 1st rank ie to top a class or a batch ; except for once. That was when I was in my 7th standard. I used to have a strong bonding with Our Lady right from my childhood thanks to my Grandmother. One night after my prayers I went to bed and was just about to sleep when i saw a bright white light and I knew it was Our Lady. Those were times when Charismatic renewal - visions and gifts was never heard of. She told me - "Ninakku Rank Kittum". (You will get a rank). No first , second or third but just "a rank". I immediately woke up and felt a little angry with Our Lady thinking that she addressed me as "Ninakku" cos I love to be called as "Mon" (Son/Sonny) if it is some one very close to my heart :-). When the exam results came for the first time in my life; and never again I got my First Rank. Also during school days I used to bike to my school. I was hit and thrown up by a high speed Yamaha. During my aerodynamic flight thru the sky I called - "Our Lady". I landed on a soft patch and had no major injuries. I remember how the entire school including the Princy came running to me. A sort of (limbing) hero I was ! Thanks to Our Lady!! Even during my hey days at college. I ensured that I made my prayer to Our Lady before I hit the bed after a real tough days work :-):-):-) I started realizing the power of Our Lady and her powerful protection when I started praying the Memorare ("Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary"). After going deep into catholic renewal ministries I came to know from ministers and people of God the power of the Rosary in breaking the enemy. A very intimate friend of mine was sharing his experience where the preacher with him was praying for a woman possed with an evil spirit. He was there supporting the preacher. The preacher took out the Rosary and when the woman saw the Rosary she started trembling with fear and produced some awkward sounds. When the rosary was brought near her she started saying - "mary matha .. mary matha ". And when the rosary touched her body it was as though hot fire pieces was put over her body. The entire deliverance happened using the Rosary and powerful praises to Lord Jesus Christ. Another experience I would like to share, happened a few weeks before. When I was in the church after the morning mass; a big black bee came and started revolving round my head
[JOYnet] Simplicity
Dear Freinds, The first thing that came to mind about Simplicity were the blessed years that I spent in St.Francis, where I did my graduation. With the last moment full time studying that I did, never managed any great grades but those were years when I made the best of freinds and learnt a great deal. all attributed solely to the sisters there...sisters of charity. There was once a vocation camp arranged in the convent during holidays for all the catholic girls .When we went to convent for the camp, one early morning, what we saw was our dear Principal sister sweeping the garden.Principals of equally prestigious colleges(convent) usually never step out of ac cars/rooms and offices and here is our dear Princi...with a broom. Weather it was a Prinicipal nun, a lecturer nun or a classmate nun..yes..they did play a role model for us..Simplicity does have a great lesson to impart There is retreat center around here in Hyderabad called Divine Word Center.I always consider the preists here, Fr. Christhu and Fr.Cyril to be great blessings to the whole of AP. There is a programme conducted in this retreat center where "Divine prayer partners" come once in a month, any day of their choice to fast and intercede for the whole world..for everybody who is in need and is suffering.i too joined this team and after going there for a while, realised that there was a big difference. While I interceeded for others, my petitions and desires often came to my mind ( a lil too often considering that we were having intercessory prayers)and my heart ached differently. I prayed for others for others sake but some wonderful people here pray for others for their own sake like the Lord who said "I will blot out their transgressions for my own sake". There are people here who care a damn about their health and well being for the sake of others. Such goodness can only come fr! om a simple heart... Simplicty also brings to my mind Mother Theresa and her sisters.. to forget about your self totally and only think of bringing happiness/meaning to lost lives...to be able to love so much...you need to have one quality in absolute measure..the quality of being simple at heart.. [JOYnet] Sharing
It was quite sometime back..the last year of my PG Course. It was a tough year and I believed then, that I was passing through the roughest phase of my life. Things went wrong in every possible way and I was sure that there would be nobody on the face of this earth with lesser confidence, lesser courage and so useless.(no exagerration ) I never expected to pass that year and least expected a job...but I did pass and also got a job ( contrary to my expectations...how disappointing! :-)) ).The fact that I have come out of that stage is one of the biggest miracles of my life. During those days, there was a prayer I often made...a countless times during the day...just kept saying all the time "Jesus please hold my hand.." .Very often during the day I checked out " Are u there ? Hold me please.." .I knew my sister can't help me out ,neither parents nor freinds..only somebody supreme and so in my helpness and desperation I called on Jesus to hold my hand..even if it was to make a phone call or talk to someone or even walk to the busstop.. I had a chance to go for a spiritual counselling then...and the counsellor just told me.. "Pretty, whenever you ask Jesus to hold your hand, that VERY MOMENT he will come and hold you.I see a vision in which I see a hand extended to you.." What she told surprised/shook me because that is what I prayed everytime and never actually shared with anyone.. God din't have skin and I din't have strong faith ...I couldn't see him holding my hand..din't know I was making a good prayer. I realised that Jesus was not supernatural but so real. [JOYnet] "Are You God ?"
Dear friends, found a cute article ...true that if we belong to God's kingdom..it should inevitably show... Love & Prayers, Pretty Hyderabad. "Are You God?" One cold evening during the holiday season, a little boy about six or seven was standing out in front of a store window. The little child had no shoes and his clothes were mere rags. A young woman passing by saw the little boy and could read the longing in his pale blue eyes. She took the child by the hand and led him into the store. There she bought him some new shoes and a complete suit of warm clothing. They came back outside into the street and the woman said to the child, 'Now you can go home and have a very happy holiday."The little boy looked up at her and asked, "Are you God, Ma'am?" She smiled down at him and replied, "No son, I'm just one of His children." The little boy then said, "I knew you had to be some relation." Written by Dan Clark Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. [JOYnet] A beautiful Story...
Hi..Read through this.it's too good... Change of Heart By George Mapson It was the tail end of the depression, and things were tough. Mum had a hard time raising us kids on her own in our small community of New Westminster, BC. My Dad had drowned in Pitt Lake, five years earlier - I still remember it like it was yesterday. Because Dad had no pension, or benefits, there was not much money so we went on relief, now called social assistance. We relied on the Salvation Army to keep us clothed, and although our clothes were second hand, we thought they were beautiful. Looking back, I realize what Mum went through sending us kids to school. Every morning she would tuck a new piece of cardboard in our shoes, because our soles were worn out. When we got home, Mum would have "French Toast" ready for us. This was bread deep-fried in lard. Constant moving was typical for my family in these times. Rent was twenty-five dollars a month, but Mum couldn't pay it, and we knew we would be evicted right after Christmas on the first of January. These were hard and sad years, but we never complained. Christmas was approaching, and we were entitled to a twenty-five dollar Christmas fund for social services. The Inspector came to our house, and searched it from top to bottom to be sure we didn't have any food hidden away. When he didn't find any, he issued the cheque for Mum. It was four days before Christmas, and Mum said that instead of buying food, she would use the money to pay back rent, assuring us all of a roof over our heads for a little while longer. She told us then there would be nothing for Christmas. Unknown to Mum, I had been selling Christmas trees, shoveling snow, and doing odd jobs to earn enough money to buy a new pair of boots. Boots that weren't patched, boots with no cardboard in the soles. I knew exactly which boots I wanted. They were ten-inch Top Genuine Pierre Paris and they had a price of twenty-three dollars. Well, the big day came on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. I was very excited, as I hurried up the road to catch the bus. It was only half a mile walk, but on the way I noticed a house with Christmas lights and decorations. It was then I realized that at our house, we had no lights, no decorations, nor any money for Christmas goodies. I knew then that we would have no turkey or ham for Christmas, and I felt sad. But I knew for certain that we would have French toast. As I continued walking I began to feel bewildered. I was eleven years old, and I was feeling a strange sense of guilt. Here I was going to buy a new pair of boots while Mum was home in tears. She would be trying to explain to us why there were no presents. As I arrived at the bus stop, the driver opened his big manual hinged door. I stood there for what seemed an eternity, until eventually the driver asked, "Son, are you getting on this bus or not?" I finally blurted out, "No thanks Sir, I've changed my mind." The bus drove off without me, and I stood alone in a daze, but feeling as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. My mind was made up and I realized what I had to do. Across the street from the bus stop was a big grocery store called the Piggly Wiggley. Into the store I went, brimming with happiness and excitement. I realized that the twenty-five dollars I had worked so hard for went a long way for groceries. I bought a turkey, ham, oranges and all the Christmas treats. I spent every dime of my hard-earned money. The owner of the grocery store said, "Son, you can't pack all those groceries and carry them home yourself." So I asked two boys with carriers on their bicycles to run them the half-mile down to our house. As I walked behind the delivery boys, I whispered for them to quietly unload the groceries on the porch and pile them against the door. Once they had done this, with great excitement and tears in my eyes, I knocked on the door. I could hardly wait to see my mother's face! When Mum opened the door, some of the groceries fell inside onto the floor, and she just stood there dumbfounded. Holding back the tears, I hollered, "Merry C! hristmas Mother!! There really is a Santa Claus!" I had a lot of explaining to do as we unpacked all the food and put it away. That day I got enough hugs and kisses from Mum to last two lifetimes. To see my Mother's prayers answered more than made up for the boots I never got. It was a Merry Christmas for us after all! New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo!
