[LabPlot2] [Bug 401087] Custom plot range values are problematic
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401087 --- Comment #2 from Alexander Semke --- (In reply to Stefan Gerlach from comment #0) > 1. It is hard to customize the xy-plot x/y-range minimum/maximum to values > bigger than 1e6 or smaller than 1e-6 because the value is evaluated after > entering one digit and changed to scientific notation. Just try to set it to > "1e+8". > 2. When the value for maximum is "1e+6" and i enter "0" leading to "1e+60", > LP crashes immediately I added a safety check now in order not to crash in 2.6 now. The entry of such values is still cumbersome... I think the solution here would be to switch everywhere from QLineEdit to our ExpressionTextEdit. In our task for 2.7 https://phabricator.kde.org/T10225 I mentioned this already under "allow to enter formulas for things like min/max values for plot ranges, scaling factor in axes and so on. Useful for example if you work with bytes and want to switch in the plot to kB, MB and so on." This is quite some work and would result in further delay of 2.6, though. So, let's improve everywhere and consistently in 2.7. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 404322] New: No SVG file support for application menu icon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404322 Bug ID: 404322 Summary: No SVG file support for application menu icon Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: aurorae Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: bo...@fiery.me Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 118056 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118056&action=edit Application menu button fallback to the app's icon SUMMARY Aurorae theme engine allows using SVG files to render window decorations, but there's a lack of support for "application menu" button. When "application menu" button is added to the title bar, its icon will instead fallback to the app's icon. If this file is indeed the one that loads Aurorae themes, https://phabricator.kde.org/source/kwin/browse/master/plugins/kdecorations/aurorae/src/lib/auroraetheme.cpp$111, then yeah, there doesn't seem to be any line in it whatsoever to load SVG file for "application menu" button. This documentation also does not say anything about it, https://phabricator.kde.org/source/kwin/browse/master/plugins/kdecorations/aurorae/theme-description. There used to be a bug report somewhat related to this, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375862, but the proposed solution was only to allow adding the icon programmatically (which Plastik theme does). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install an SVG-based Aurorae theme. 2. Go to System Settings > Application Style > Window Decorations. 3. Apply the said theme in Theme tab. 4. Go to Buttons tab, then add Application menu button somewhere in the title bar. OBSERVED RESULT Application menu button fallback to the app's icon instead of trying to load an SVG icon from the theme. Then again there's no support for it anyway. EXPECTED RESULT Application menu button supports SVG file. [krita] [Bug 404317] New: no CLI support for stdout export
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404317 Bug ID: 404317 Summary: no CLI support for stdout export Product: krita Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: cont...@ericlevy.name Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Krita supports a command-line --export switch for automated conversion to standard formats, but only for physical files. OBSERVED RESULT No support is documented for writing to standard out, and using either /dev/stdout (Linux version) or a dash in the argument list causes the application to exit silently without any error or output. EXPECTED RESULT A dash can be used to indicate standard output for filename. A mechanism to specify format is needed, as it cannot be inferred from any filename, though this support should exist separately anyway, to support cases of nonstandard extensions. Numerous use cases can be easily imagined for processing conversion output directly by another tool. Avoiding temporary files is extremely convenient, and is largely the purpose of standard output and standard input support by the OS. Example: % krita foo.kra --export -export-filename png:- | convert - -trim +repage -resize 50% foo.jpg As no third-party tools currently support conversion from Krita format, adding such a feature would improve usability where automation is required. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Though not worth separate reports, two further observations present. During conversion, the application loads the graphics layer, even if not to open any window, and prints substantial diagnostic and informational output to standard error. Ideally, file conversion can occur with optimal efficiency, and in any environment, even headless. Bypassing the graphics layer, and behaving as though a CLI-only tool, whenever the command invocation does not require graphics, is best. Further, scripting support is best served by eliminating console output except for errors or essential warnings. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The problem with the creation of a new plot on windows is reproducible. The other problem with the call stack you pasted in comment #6 here was caused by loading a saved project. This is not the call stack we have if we create a new plot. I'd like to reproduce and to fix that second problem - load the project file and crash in XYCurvePrivate::recalcLogicalPoints(). Do you have this problem still reproducible? > and thanks so far for the quick resolution thanks a lot for reporting this problem and for helping out with testing and validation! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[phonon-backend-gstreamer] [Bug 404305] New: Phonon hang in gst_pulseringbuffer_open_device when resuming from suspend
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404305 Bug ID: 404305 Summary: Phonon hang in gst_pulseringbuffer_open_device when resuming from suspend Product: phonon-backend-gstreamer Version: 4.8.2 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dvra...@kde.org Reporter: paulir...@gmail.com CC: myr...@kde.org, romain.per...@gmail.com, sit...@kde.org, tdfisc...@kde.org Target Milestone: 4.8 SUMMARY When resuming from suspend with a console window open, an open Konsole window will sometimes hang when it tries to open a dialog box to confirm closing the child process. A backtrace shows that the hang when trying to open a PulseAudio device through the gstreamer Phonon backend. It appears that a new thread is spawned (called threaded-ml) that is using 100% of a CPU core and the main GUI thread is waiting for something produced by this thread. I have attached a GDB core file. It appears that this thread is stuck in a call to _nv014tls from the shared library /usr/lib/nvidia-410/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.410.78 I figure that this is probably some sort of issue with the nvidia drivers, but I figured I'd post it here too just in case. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Konsole, and invoke a long-running process (such as nano) 2. Suspend the computer and wake it up 3. Close the Konsole window without first exiting the child process OBSERVED RESULT A new window appears but is never painted. A thread of the console process called 'threaded-ml' starts to use 100% of a single CPU core, stuck in a function call in /usr/lib/nvidia-410/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.410.78 EXPECTED RESULT A dialog box should appear and ask if I want to kill the child process. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Ubuntu 16.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.5.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.18.0 Qt Version: 5.5.1 Konsole Version: 15.12.3 Nvidia Drivers Version: 410.78 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Link to compressed core file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ggj7zqk24qd2652/konsole-hang-phonon.core.gz?dl=1 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404171 --- Comment #6 from Stefan Brüns --- Thats a nasty file: size of e1: 120 characters e2: 64 * e1 e3: 64 * e2 e4: 64 * e3 root id:64 * e4 = 2^24 * 120 characters ~= 2 * 10^9 characters (4GByte for UTF-16/QString). For reallocation, we need about ~8 GByte (old data storage and new data storage), plus anything else allocated. Although the failed document is remembered, it is currently not taken into account when indexing. The reason for this is the lack of extractor versioning, i.e. after one failed attempt due to e.g. a coding error we would never try the file again. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404277 emohr changed: What|Removed |Added CC||fritzib...@gmx.net Version|unspecified |Appimage - Refactoring Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED Flags||timeline_corruption+ Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from emohr --- Hi Evert. Thanks for testing and posting. I can confirm this freeze with AppImage #82. Created issue #37: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/37. Step 2: yes this green hotspot is gone. I put it on the to-do list to re-implement the “1click transition is missing” again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[latte-dock] [Bug 404280] Panel gets smaller instead of icons
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404280 --- Comment #7 from sdfjsfjaei-h...@yahoo.de --- Created attachment 118051 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118051&action=edit overflow when too many icons and "Decrease size automatically when needed" disabled Of course this is a matter of taste, but I'd argue that it is not very intuitive that the whole panel shrinks when there isn't enough space. I personally want my panel to stay the same size (which is why I disabled the "Decrease size automatically when needed" option), but that has the downside of icons overflowing into other parts of the panel as seen in the attachment. Even if this isn't of interest to you at the moment, couldn't we leave the issue open for the case that someone else wants to work on this? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 404302] New: Mapping capslock to super breaks window navigation
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404302 Bug ID: 404302 Summary: Mapping capslock to super breaks window navigation Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: input Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: jpakk...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- How to reproduce (Kubuntu 18/10): 1. map window switching to super-tab 2. Select "make caps lock an additional super" in keyboard settings 3. open three different applications on the same virtual desktop (I used Konsole, Emacs and Okular) 4. Try to switch between windows using super-tab When using the actual super key, kwin toggles between the first two open windows. It is not possible to get the third windows to be the active one. Switching between windows with capslock-tab works correctly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[latte-dock] [Bug 404122] [feature] - colored backgrounds for running tasks like Unity's launcher/Ubuntu Gnome
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404122 --- Comment #15 from sdfjsfjaei-h...@yahoo.de --- I think the most important factor is, if possible, being able to configure every little detail, if one doesn't like everything specified in the preset. 1) Icon is not active (I suppose nothing will be shown in the background at all cases) Yeah, if the app does not run, the background is transparent. (If your dock has a black background, the background of the icon is also black.) 2) Window is shown As can be seen here ( https://youtu.be/ffkLTgyQ3Ww?t=250 ), to the right is an arrow when a window is currently shown in front. As usual, to left of the icon is an indicator (arrow) for each window of the application. 3) Window is minimized Nothing specific (as seen here: https://youtu.be/ffkLTgyQ3Ww?t=35 ). But the option for having a different color, which is present in Latte dock works fine =) 4) Group of Windows This basically already exists. For each window of an application there is an indicator to the left, as seen here: https://youtu.be/ffkLTgyQ3Ww?t=43 5) Progress bar (Added by me) This is what it looks like: https://youtu.be/ffkLTgyQ3Ww?t=230 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
