[Spectacle] [Bug 417599] Spectacle locks up when clicking on configure button

I tried with all the window decorations, and I seem to have the exact problem
no matter the theme. It occurs on Arc, Arc Dark, Breeze, Oxygen, Plastik, and
my current Sweet-Dark theme. I close Spectacle, switch to a a new window
decoration, and reproduce the steps with same results to unable seeing the
configure screen for Spectacle. The only way to fix it is to click the
"configure..." button, and switch to a new window decoration to see Spectacle
window.

[elisa] [Bug 417617] New: When replacing the queue with a new album Elisa jumps to the 2nd track

2020-02-13 Thread Milo Feinberg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417617

Bug ID: 417617
Summary: When replacing the queue with a new album Elisa jumps
to the 2nd track
   Product: elisa
   Version: 19.12.2
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: matthieu_gall...@yahoo.fr
  Reporter: milofeinb...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Elisa skips to the second 2nd track when playing an album.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press the "play now" button on an album in album view.
2. Press the "play now" button on a second album.

OBSERVED RESULT
The playlist is cleared and the new album is added. The second track begins
playing.

EXPECTED RESULT
The playlist is cleared and the new album is added. The first track begins
playing.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.18 User Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This doesn't happen every time I press the "play now" button. It occurs maybe
60% of the time. It's possible that this only occurs when Elisa is already
playing something. I remember it happening from a blank playlist once, but
couldn't get it to replicate that error in a few minutes of testing.

SUMMARY:

Seems to be no way of disabling kdeconnect (so that the kdeconnectd process

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Look in "System Settings", "KDE Connect" for an option to disable the

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

There's an option in System Settings "File Search" to enable or disable
search. Looking for an equivalent option for kdeconnect

Request triggered by a discussion that the "slow start for gwenview" might
be related to running kdeconnect (Bug 411196)

Looks like not all distributions have KDEconnect installed by default,
seemingly Fedora does not, Neon does. In the case that it is installed, there
should be an easily discoverable way of controlling it and maybe it should not
be active by default. There's the principle that if a service is not needed it
should not be running by default (all the more so when it has an open port)

No, it didn't :(

I noticed the transparent box sometimes doesn't happen to KRunner, not sure why
though. But so far since I upgraded to 5.18.0, Latte Dock has got this issue

Same issue here, but not only with kinfocenter.
When copying something to the clipboard with xsel, I also have to do it twice.
See the following example:

$ xsel -bc # clear cliboard
$ xsel -bo # verify clipboard is empty
$ echo "test" | xsel -ib # copy "test" to CLIPBOARD
$ xsel -bo # print contents of CLIPBOARD
$ echo "test" | xsel -ib # try again
$ xsel -bo
test
$ echo "test2" | xsel -ib # copy something different
$ xsel -bo # CLIPBOARD has only been cleared
$ echo "test2" | xsel -ib
$ xsel -bo
test2

Copying text from other applications like konsole or firefox also doesn't work
sometimes.

Running Arch Linux with KDE Plasma 5.18, it worked fine before the update to
5.18.

[kwin] [Bug 417614] New: [regression] kwin 5.18.0 ignores custom FPS set in ~/.config/kwinrc

2020-02-13 Thread S. Christian Collins

Bug ID: 417614
Summary: [regression] kwin 5.18.0 ignores custom FPS set in
~/.config/kwinrc
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.18.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: compositing
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: s_chriscoll...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Kwin compositing appears to operate at a frame rate equal to the lowest refresh
rate among all connected monitors. This means that even though my primary
monitor operates at 120 Hz, everything is being forced to 75 FPS due to my
second monitor operating at only 75 Hz.

Prior to the upgrade to Plasma 5.18, I was able to work around this using the
following settings:

1. ForceCompositionPipeline=On in NVIDIA driver (this ensures tear-free video,
always)
2. "MaxFPS=120" and "RefreshRate=120" added to ~/.config/kwinrc under the
[Compositing] section (this forces the compositor to operate at 120 FPS)
3. Tearing prevention ("vsync") in kwin compositing settings set to "None"

Using these settings in Plasma 5.17, the compositor operated at a smooth 120
FPS, and NVIDIA's ForceCompositionPipeline feature ensured that there was no
screen tearing on either monitor.

However, in Plasma 5.18, the above mentioned settings in kwinrc are no longer
honored, and the "Show FPS" desktop effect confirms that kwin is only operating
at 75 FPS. I can only get kwin to operate at 120 Hz if I disable my secondary
monitor.

Please let me know if there is a workaround for this issue. Thank you.

And yes, I reckon we are on the same page now. Btw out of curiosity, is Plasma

SUMMARY
Proxy clips causing issues
I have this small project that for some reason when i disable Proxy clip
(opened ticket earlier on this - would not render only got white) the video in
the timeline shrinks to almost nothing. I can't stretch it out. If i turn
proxy clip back on I can stretch it back out. Tried rendering without just to
see is same problem exists. No white but i end up with clip repeating in
render but not when i play it in Kdenlive. Tried creating a new project with
just these images and doing same thing. no luck it works. So not sure what
combo i have that is causing this.

[systemsettings] [Bug 417493] Light GTK theme doesn't override gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme

2020-02-13 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417493

That makes sense to me. So basically:

1. When using the Breeze GTK theme, set gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme based
on the colors of the color scheme, since it's a color-scheme-aware theme.
2. When using the Breeze-Dark GTK theme, set gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme
to true.
3. If a Breeze-Light GTK theme is ever added, set
gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme to false when using it.

Do I have that right?

Similar issue here, wake up from sleep(suspend) and external monitor connected
via dock will not wake up. Laptop display is disabled at this point so no way
of doing anything. Always have to unplug laptop from the dock to get laptop
monitor to come up, then plug back in and external monitor starts working or I
have to re-enable it in display settings.

Looks like LC_TIME isn't there. The formats KCM successfully sets LC_TIME for
me, writing it into ~/.config/plasma-localerc as expected. And then
start-plasma correctly sets the variables if I look at them with `env | grep -i
LC_`.

Can you attach or print the contents of your ~/.config/plasma-localerc file?

SUMMARY
I see no reason why that shouldn't be the default behavior. The left panel
should be a queue list where a user will select which song they want to play
next before resuming to the current queue list. Also, the enqueue should load
songs from their current playlist they're at, not the search results.

  Platform: Fedora RPMs

Example of the configure button being visible on the desktop when widget not
being edited.

SUMMARY
Having the configure button visible at all times is not the best visually
speaking. I was just wondering if it was possible to make this go away on the
note itself. We still have access to it when editing the widget itself.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add knote to desktop.
2. Leave it there.
3. Configure button always visible.

OBSERVED RESULT
Configure button always visible in lower corner of note.

EXPECTED RESULT
Configure button disappear once note is configured to color of choice.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.5

Qt Version: 5.13.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
On the image I include. It does look noticeably worse since I'm using a
transparent note. This gives the configure button the appearance of floating
off onto the desktop by itself.

[systemsettings] [Bug 417493] Light GTK theme doesn't override gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme

2020-02-13 Thread Frederick Zhang
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417493

I'm actually *not* using Breeze but Materia-light-compact instead. As it's a
third-party theme I tested the case with Breeze hence it in this filed issue.

While I agree that users who choose Breeze *usually* are expected to 'want for
GTK apps to look as similar to Qt apps as possible', only hiding suffixes of
official themes would though create a special case, of which I'm not the hugest
fan. Personally I'd appreciate some consistency here and tbh I don't understand
why we have to create more work here just to forbid users from choosing another
variant of a theme which they currently can.

The workflow I would expect is:
1. When a user applies a Global Theme, simply change the GTK one as well (if
it's got a corresponding one), and also choose the same dark/light variant here
(even for third-party ones if feasible). It's called 'Global Theme' and this is
what one should expect.
2. Users can then optionally go to Configure GNOME/GTK Application Style and
choose whichever theme/variant they want. If someone happens to select Breeze
light here while using Breeze Dark as the Global Theme, simply let it be then
cos they manually go through the extra steps to intentionally change it so it
must be what they want.
3. gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme is synchronised to GNOME/GTK Application
Style.

You get the horizontal scrollbar if you have the vertical scrollbar.

When the scrollbar appears, the viewport gets smaller, but the contents are set
to the width of the full view.

So you get the horizontal one to fit.

But changing the problem, do we even need a scrollview inside the tab? The
container adds one anyway

[Breeze] [Bug 417605] New: Black border around breeze window preview in System Settings>Window Appearance for Breeze theme

2020-02-13 Thread Mike Simms
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417605

Bug ID: 417605
Summary: Black border around breeze window preview in System
Settings>Window Appearance for Breeze theme
   Product: Breeze
   Version: 5.18.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: window decoration
  Assignee: n...@kde.org
  Reporter: micsim2...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 125994
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=125994=edit
image showing what I mean about ugly border

SUMMARY
Only present in this dialogue, does not happen with windows on screen when
using Breeze or Breeze dependent themes. It's something to do with the shadow
entry in the theme file I think. It's also present no matter what compositor
settings I use. If I click on the theme it disappears. Click on another theme
or close the window and open it again, it re-appears. It's also irrelevant if I
set the Global Theme to Breeze instead of Breath2, the same still happens.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open KDE System Settings
2. Open Window Decorations grid

OBSERVED RESULT
As described above

EXPECTED RESULT
Normal appearance

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro KDE 18.1.5
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0
Qt Version: 5.14.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Intel HD 4000 GPU integrated into i3-3110m, using OpenGL 3.1 but like I said
that is irrelevant too since it happens whatever compositor options are in
place. MESA build 19.3.3, using X11 not KWayland - Xorg 1.20.7, Kernel 4.19.103

Sorrry, it is SDDM.

Not to sure how to take a photo of it tho. It is really quick flashes of white,

Can attest. Same display scale, versions are the same for everything, except
that my Qt is 5.13.2, atop KDE Neon.

It's as if when calculating the dirty regions, they are off by one when filling

[systemsettings] [Bug 417604] New: Scrolling direction inverted in some Plasma applications

2020-02-13 Thread Pietro F. Fontana
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417604

Bug ID: 417604
Summary: Scrolling direction inverted in some Plasma
applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.18.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_touchpad
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: pietro.font...@posteo.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Since few KDE Plasma versions I observed that setting the scrolling direction
between most applications (Firefox, Dolphin, Okular, Konsole) and some Plasma
specific applications (network applet, system settings) is inverted.
If I enable "natural scrolling" then this applies correctly to most
applications but not to Plasma applets etc., if I disable the situation is the
opposite.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Scroll in System Settings and in Dolphin (for example)
2. Enable/Disable "natural scrolling"
3. Scroll again

OBSERVED RESULT
The direction of scrolling is different in the two applications.

EXPECTED RESULT
The direction of scrolling is always the same in every application.

are the ones in favorites list of Kicker.

So you want the ability to easily control the opacity of Plasma panels,
pop-ups, notifications, etc. In fact this is something that's desired by KDE's
VDG and in line with future plans. In particular the use case we're targeting
is allowing people to turn all the transparency *off* (without having to use a
totally different Plasma theme, of course), but as long as the proposed setting
is implemented as a slider rather than an on-off checkbox, it could accommodate
your use case too.

I agree. It's not your fault though, it's always been that way. :)

If a user wants to have a different style for GTK apps, they're still welcome
to do that; just select a GTK theme that isn't Breeze-GTK. Someone using
Breeze-GTK, is signaling that they want for GTK apps to look as similar to Qt
apps as possible, so we should honor that request.

So I think it's perfectly reasonable to just show "Breeze-GTK" and not its
light or dark variants.

[plasmashell] [Bug 417603] New: Plasma does not come up after reboot

2020-02-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417603

Bug ID: 417603
Summary: Plasma does not come up after reboot
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.17.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: wilson_tyle...@yahoo.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.17.5)

Qt Version: 5.13.2
Frameworks Version: 5.66.0
Operating System: Linux 5.4.18-200.fc31.x86_64 x86_64
Distribution: Fedora 31 (Thirty One)

-- Information about the crash:
- Unusual behavior I noticed:

Every time i log in after a reboot or from a shutdown, my deskto is empty aside
from an application shortcut and a document. No panel at the bottom to get into
my application menu. After a few minutes everything goes black and then it all
appears as well as a notification that plasma had crashed. Did not do this
before on Fedora 30, but is a frequent issue on Fedora 31.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

GridDelegate.qml

For those of you who don't want to or can't compile software, try replacing
"GridDelegate.qml" on your system with
the attached file, after backing up the original file somewhere safe.

On my system, it lives at /usr/lib64/qt5/qml/org/kde/kcm/GridDelegate.qml, but
you can locate it with `find /usr | grep "kcm/GridDelegate.qml"`
