Fix MS Word attachments being detected as encrypted

Caused by EncryptedBodyPartFormatter (via GpgME upstream) being too
enthusiastic and detecting the binary data as PGP encrypted. Only
enable this formatter for binary body parts explicitly declared as
encrypted by their MIME type. See the referenced bug for more
information.

[Discover] [Bug 450655] Discover: show reboot button even if more updates are available

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1)
> So you unselected the flatpak updates, but they updated anyway?

No. I deselected flatpak packages, and flatpak packages did not update. That is
fine. But I updated system packages, and reboot is actually needed to apply
such updates due to offline updates being enabled. And that is not indicated in
main window due to flatpak packages being not updated.

(In reply to Aleix Pol from comment #2)
> I think that OP means that since there are still updates, Discover never
> showed the "reboot" page.
>
> Can you confirm my assumption?

Yes, that is correct.

> Can you also confirm that the system tray did turn into a reboot button?

Yes, tray icon turned into a reboot button. Unfortunately, it's not noticeable
enough.

Bug ID: 450693
Summary: Cannot edit the Google Groupware source
   Product: kalendar
   Version: 1.0.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR

SUMMARY
I cannot edit the google groupware calendar source at all. The "edit" button
doesn't do anything.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open Kalendar
2. configure Kalendar
3. go to sources
4. add a new source: google groupware
5. the source appears as (not configured)
6. click the Edit button. Nothing happens. No dialog shows up, no errors seem
to show up. The app doesn't crash.
7. Removing or Restarting the service also doesn't do anything.

OBSERVED RESULT
Google Groupware calendar source is unusable.

EXPECTED RESULT
The editing should work and the google groupware integration should work.

Yes that is the problem. Another problem is that I'm always worried about it

prevent the mistake in the first place which is what we should be trying to
avoid.

2022-02-21 Thread Lemuel Simon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428854

I am not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere, but I believe to problem is
caused by a conflict between Night Color and 'Gamma Settings'. Night Color has
worked consistently well for me (Plasma 5.24.1) until I open the 'Display
Configuration' KCM in System Settings. Doing so would immediately 'reset' the
display, getting rid of Night Color's red tint (while Night Color is still
enabled.) Maybe that's why Night Color would 'disappear' shortly after
activating at login, 'Gamma Settings/Display Configuration' gets triggered and
fiddles with the gamma values.

I have tested in X11, not sure how the Wayland session handles that.

Bug ID: 450689
Summary: Add Flatpak distribution for Filelight
   Product: filelight

Currently Filelight is not available as a Flatpak. This makes it difficult on
Flatpak-first distros like Fedora Silverblue or Fedora Kinoite. Comparatively,
GNOME's "Disk Usage Analyzer" does have a Flatpak and is available on Flathub.
It would be nice if KDE's Filelight was as easily available.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Search Filelight: https://flathub.org/apps/search/filelight

The effect you're talking about is used when switching from one desktop to
another. However when switching desktops from the Overview effect, you're
starting in the Overview effect, not in a virtual desktop. So an animated
effect that switches from one desktop to another one does not apply and cannot
be used. That's why the Overview effect uses a "zoom out" style animation.

To be able to use it, we would have to first close the Overview effect, and
then play your default desktop switching animation. If it did this, would you
be okay with the fact that it would necessarily make desktop switching slower
because it would need to play two animations (leave overview" and "switch
virtual desktop") rather than one?

These are individual app-specific bugs. So you would need to report that to the

I cannot reproduce that issue on Wayland with Plasma 5.24. 5.22 is officially

[kate] [Bug 450686] New: Kate window always opens too small

2022-02-21 Thread Aaron Williams
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450686

Bug ID: 450686
Summary: Kate window always opens too small
   Product: kate
   Version: 21.12.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: aar...@doofus.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
For some reason, every time I create a new kate session, kate opens in a corner
of my screen and the window is far too small to use. I do not see any overrides
There are no special window settings or application settings as far as I can
tell.

I might add that my desktop setup consists of two 1920x1200 displays and two
3840x2160 displays. The primary displays are the 3840x2160 screens and this is
where new sessions are created.

I do not see this issue with other KDE applications.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start a new KDE session, i.e. on the command line "kate -n"

OBSERVED RESULT
Kate appears in a corner of the screen and defaults to only 20 columns.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expect a reasonably sized Kate window that can display at least 80 columns
without having to resize it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: OpenSUSE 15.3
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It appears that these settings are stored in the anonymous session, though even
though I resize the window before closing the new settings do not seem to take
effect. If I manually edit the file it still reverts to the old settings,
though I have not tried closing all instances of Kate and I have many active
instances since I'm in the middle of several big projects.

[partitionmanager] [Bug 450685] New: Partition backup feature does not correctly back up data in partition

2022-02-21 Thread morashon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450685

Bug ID: 450685
Summary: Partition backup feature does not correctly back up
data in partition
   Product: partitionmanager
   Version: 21.12.2
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: andr...@stikonas.eu
  Reporter: cody...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 147031

KDE Partition Manager Logs & Results from fsck

SUMMARY
Backing up 465 GiB ext4 partition with built-in backup feature resulted in
creating a file that when viewed with hex editor is devoid of data but is
reported to be 465 GiB in Dolphin. Attempting to restore with this backup leads
to an unknown filesystem on the partition which cannot be repaired with fsck,
resulting in a loss of all data in said partition.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Backup ext4 partition with KDE Partition Manager
2. View created file with hex editor and observe empty file
3. Restore said partition with KDE Partition Manager

OBSERVED RESULT
Restored partition is unusable and data is lost

EXPECTED RESULT
Partition is backed up with all data intact, and restoration creates a usable
filesystem with all data intact

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.16.7-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This may not be limited to ext4 partitions, but I can only report ext4
partition as that is all I tested.

Included logs from backup, restore, and results from attempted fsck.

I'm not of much use in term of development but I can try a lot of twists and

want to change.

Thanks, that sample kmy file is what I wanted. I also found some more evidence
of strange things in my own kmy file.
Yes, not updating a price if there is no source is fine - but inventing a
price-pair that doesn't work and isn't what you entered is not ok. We need to
figure out why that happens, and why we can't remove some of those bogus price
entries. I suspect this may take a while.

At the moment it's disabled by default, yet you can set it in a corner. Then it
won't work until you enable the effect on the kcm.

This doesn't seem very intuitive and I'm sure it will make some users think
it's not working.

I'd recommend enabling whatever effects are selected for an edge automatically.
I can imagine that disabling back is a bit more complex but at least it won't
behave unexpectedly.

The last investment that occurred on 2022-12-13 for "CIG2323" was a "Add
shares" transaction (year-end dividend reinvestment).

I looked in the Price Editor for this investment, and indeed, the last price
update is from 2022-01-21 (which was the previously reported update for the
zombie pair commodity > CAD) and the other date before that is from 2021-09-01
which is now the reported update date for that zombie "pair"

I am not sure to understand: do you want me to create a brand new Kmy file and
create the same investment and add shares from one of those 3 investments that
fail to update and try to update prices?

If this is the case I already did, see attached.

Just to clarify, these 3 investment (mutual funds) that do not update are not
caused by a bug in KMM or my data file but because I dont have an online source
at all to update them. Unless I misunderstood you, this is 100% normal I
believe.

There is the concept of distribution information in Neon. Discover has started
to make use of it to notify users about EOL in their distro as well as to tell

For neon we already have a mechanism that notifies about the latter, it would
make sense to have the information so there's more than just another new

There is a persistent bug that causes Wayland session to hang when monitor is
explicitly turned off or goes to sleep. After turning it back on it's possible
to go into tty and check what's going on, so I collected some gdb logs.

When testing (turning it off), the only shown window on the desktop was
kwalletd5 password prompt. What can be observed at that moment is that
kwin_wayland and kwalletd5 both eat a lot of CPU:
