[Bug 260345] New: Akonadi ical resource crashes at startup

Since updating to KDE 4.6 Beta I get three crash reports on every startup, and the data from those two files is not available in Kontact. An additional vCard resource for contacts works. You may use http://hogsmeade.lieberbiber.de/~sturmflut/tv.vcal as an example, it contains TV show dates and is updated three times a day. The other ical file is private. Currently an HTML-only email is only displayed correctly when I explicitely trust this user inside kmail by clicking on a special link displayed in the mail viewer, or when I set the complete folder to prefer HTML mails. In fact, I trust a specific user, and this should be possible to define globally in the addressbook, because when I rearrange my mails (e.g. I move the mail from one folder to a different one), then I again have the display problem and only the option to allow HTML for the complete folder or the cumbersome way to always click on the link inside the mail viewer. [Bug 260265] Cannot retrieve my emails (via POP3) from M$ Exchange Server
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260265 --- Comment #1 from Nassos Kourentas nassos kourentas com 2010-12-17 15:26:47 --- After further investigation and googling around, I found a _workaround_ of the reported issue: It appears that a modification concerning the authentication mechanism (that is related with KWallet) resulted to the problem: Once I deleted the respective Akonadi resource and recreated it (using the exact values and credentials), the problem seized to exist. But, as far as I am concerned, such a requirement (to delete and recreate the respective POP3 Akonadi resource) to rectify the issue, should _not_ be an acceptable solution... The following comment might be out of topic, but it's worth reporting: Furthermore, I would like to mention the fact that, in the event of connecting with a server whose certificate is not valid/safe (The Akonadi resourse generates a warning that the server failed the authenticity check), leads to the user taking the responsibility upon herself whether to accept the certificate (either for the current session, or forever), or decline it altogether... If the user chooses to accept the provided certificate _forever_, the akonadi resource will periodically (each and every time it is invoked that is) keep on complaining about the very same certificate issue, thus, _ignoring_ the specific user request for the system to accept the (less safe) certificate! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

There I always clicked keep right, but the dialog with exactly the same diff kept appearing, so I exited Kontact. When I then tried to start it again everytime KMail is started I get this crash. I tried synching the collection with akonadiconsole, moving all messages from my inbox to a backup folder (since it was a message in my inbox causing this dialog to appear), deleting kmail2rc (this seemed to work for one start, but now the error is back). I really don't know what to do, this is a really big issue for me since I now can't read my e-mails anymore. [Bug 139293] Subfolders not inheriting parent identity setting
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139293 George Metaxas gmeta...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||gmeta...@gmail.com --- Comment #2 from George Metaxas gmetal31 gmail com 2010-12-17 21:43:58 --- I do not think that the default identity is assigned to the subfolder (at least not anymore). I think that this bug is (at least with the trunk version) a matter of changing the wording of the Use default identity checkbox. I tried the following: - Two identities (one the default) - Two DIMAP accounts, each assigned a different identity. I then added a subfolder to a folder of each of the accounts and proceeded to check the folder properties. Indeed, in the folder properties dialog, the Use default identity checkbox was checked in both cases. However, in the Sender identity combo, the displayed identity was different. After investigating the code which controls this dialog, it appears that the Sender identity combo box, takes its value (irrespective of whether it is grayed out or not) from the identity assigned to the subfolder. In conclusion, I think that renaming the Use default identity checkbox to something like: Use Account Identity will be sufficient. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
