[Bug 274402] mysqld process use a lot of IO time to time

2011-07-03 Thread jlj.babydragon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=274402

Hi:
I update kdepim to 4.6.90, this problem still occur. I tried to enlarge
innodb_buffer_pool_size to 800M, mysqld process still use a lot of IO time.
I use the sql in the comment of innodb_buffer_pool_size property, I think the
result is a bit large:
SELECT sum(data_length) as bla, sum(index_length) as blub FROM
information_schema.tables WHERE table_schema not in ("mysql",
"information_schema");
blablub

[Bug 271231] e-mails downloaded from POP3-servers by akonadi/kmail2 are stored twice locally

2011-07-03 Thread eric
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=271231

I've just found out that small e-mails are not stored twice. The smallest
e-mail that is stored twice here on my computer is 4101 bytes... I don't know
where is the limit, maybe 4kb?
But still, the big multi-megabyte e-mails are stored twice!

This is with akonadi-1.5.3 and kmail/kontact-4.5.96 (4.6rc1).

I can confirm this bug! Most of the time it happens when I try to delete a
whole bunch of mails. Because of other difficulties with akonadi I deleted my
.kde4, .local, . config and other system folders and started with an almost
fresh home dir. Some problems are gone but this one not.

[Bug 277018] New: wrong character encoding

2011-07-03 Thread muabruns
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277018

   Summary: wrong character encoding
   Product: kleopatra
   Version: 0.40 (KDE 3.x)
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: muabr...@gmx.de
CC: m...@kde.org

Created an attachment (id=61582)
 --> (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=61582)
Screenshot of new outlook-email

Version: 0.40 (KDE 3.x)
OS:MS Windows

The text of the Outlook-Menue (Outlook 2007) "Add inns" shows "Nachrichten
verschl?sseln" instead of the correct "Nachrichten verschlüsseln".
This would be not a problem, if there were no other
character-encoding-difficulties: Decoding Emails encoded under GnuPG v1.4.10
(GNU/Linux) leads to the error message "Fehler im UTF-8-Code".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
There is nothing to do to reproduce the problem out of opening the Add
Inns-menue of outlook 2007 or to recieve Emails encoded under GnuPG v1.4.10
(GNU/Linux)!

Expected Results:
The german "ä", "ö", "ü" should be processed correctly.

OS: Microsoft Windows (i686) release 6.0 (Vista Professional)

Hmm, I installed it from the "official" openSUSE repo right now:
/KDE:/Unstable:/SC
(http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Unstable:/SC/openSUSE_11.4 )

$> `zypper se -is kmail`:

S | Név | Típus | Verzió | Architektúra | Telepítési forrás
--+-+++--+--
i | kmail | csomag | 4.6.90-2.1 | x86_64 | KDE 4.7
i | kmail-debuginfo | csomag | 4.6.90-2.1 | x86_64 | KDE 4.7

$> `kmail -v`:
Qt: 4.7.3
KDE Development Platform: 4.6.90 (4.7 RC1) "release 2"
KMail: 2.0.95

I would have never thought that they will include a thousand-year-old version.
This is the second time I've got a problem with their packaging of KDE 4.7 RC.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: szots...@gmail.com

Version: 2.0.95 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

After I upgraded to KMail 2, I encountered the following bugs in the program:

* I don't see my previously sent messages, the sent-mail folder is empty
* In settings > Appearance > Message Preview Pane > "…show next to the list"
option makes the message list disappear.
* Loading one message takes only 73.03s
* Each mysqld and akonadiserver eat my CPU with 60%-40% constantly
* Settings from the previous KMail (v1) didn't get migrated, not even the
server-side subscriptions
* Loading the content of a folder takes 10+ seconds, in contrary to the
previous "immediately".
* In the bottom right progress bar stays at 0% and doesn't respond to my
clicking on the "up" arrow next to it

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Start KMail and start working with that.

Expected Results:
It works as expected.

oh, version numbers are collected automatically - fine. And they're correct,
originally this was an Linux Mint 9 installation :)

And note: after ending of crash report assistant, starting Kontact again
through assistants checkbox to restart application, this time it does not
crash.

KDE Platform Version: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5)

-- Information about the crash:
(sry, not sure if this is a duplicate - but I think I found no bug which was
really the same description)

I'm start Kontact with symlink in KDEs Autostart folder.
Earlier there have been some crashes from time to time - but now, since I'm
using 2 Akonadi ressources (for Google calendar & mail), it crashes at every
startup (and often, when I'm starting Kontact manually from K-Menu later - but
this debug data is from start through KDE Autostart .)

Kubuntu 10.04 LTS, KDE 4.4.5

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.

The bug is still reproducible to me in Akregator 1.7 (KDE-SC 4.6.4). It's a
little strange. Somtimes the focus works as it should (in few cases) but most
of the time the focus is in the search field after I closed the tab.

2011-07-03 Thread S . Burmeister

Oh, another proof why this has not been fixed.

If I wait until kmail2 has filtered all new emails, i.e. according to your
claim does not download any attachments, and then click on such a new email
with 10 MB of attachments, those attachments are available instantly, i.e. no
download needed.

My internet connection is quite slow, so it would take some minutes to download
that much. The fact that attachments are shown instantly clearly proves that
this is done while filtering/the first time emails are pulled-in and not only
after I clicked on the respective email.

View > Attachments is set to intelligent if that makes any difference, actually
it should not. But I can try with different settings.

Also, while filtering I notice a long pause in which no messages are moved but
data is transferred. The time this filtering blocks everything else fits the
size of the attachments.

Unfortunately not fixed.

Kmail 2.1.0 or akonadi still fetch the whole email, including attachements
although I did not yet click on it, i.e. requested its content, and my filters
do not require any part of the content but just the headers.

Happens on an imap account with incoming, i.e. new messages that kmail2 sees
the first time.
