Sorry to disappoint you, even with only one virtual desktop and a single
activity: it doesn't show up.

The bug you refer to was that notes sticked to a particular screen or desktop,
not just the icon, wasn't it?

[Akonadi] [Bug 310741] Akonadi-google contacts stays in "syncing folder 'Other Contacts'(0%)"

2013-02-12 Thread Nico Kruber
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310741

I guess, there is something wrong with the scope in the kwallet info - now, it
is set to
",https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar,https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email,https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks";
(note the comma at the beginning)
also it should contain the contact scope, I'd guess

deleting the kwallet entries did not solve this
now I'm being asked for the password but this dialogue keeps popping up over
and over again. Login succeeds, and I authorize it and the "getting
authorization token" appears, immediately followed by the password dialogue (I
tried it up to 5 times in a row)

sometimes, up to 3 different login dialogues (according to requested
information) appear:
1) calendar
2) contacts
3) contacts+calendar+tasks

I'll run it with debug enabled (as mentioned above) as soon as possible...

Hi

Akonadi never starts automatically on KDE startup on my system. This has
happened for the last few point releases of KDE (Kubuntu packages)

I right click the Akonadi tray icon and click "Start..." and it starts.
Telepathy then works.

Going to the server configuration and hitting Test I see some errors for
previous log files:

If it helps, I don't use Kmail or Korganizer etc (as Akonadi never worked

Email indexing is on

Hope that helps out...

[Akonadi] [Bug 315022] New: Akonadi fetching same mails endlessly (Exchange 2010 over IMAP)

2013-02-12 Thread Diego Agulló
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315022

Bug ID: 315022
Summary: Akonadi fetching same mails endlessly (Exchange 2010
over IMAP)
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
   URL: http://i.imgur.com/M3qBdHG.png
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
  Assignee: er...@kde.org
  Reporter: aeo...@gmail.com
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org

Akonadi fetches the same mails over and over from an Exchange 2010 server over
IMAP. The mails are displayed and notifications are raised, but the duplicated
mails (see linked screenshot) are disabled and thus can't be interacted with:
one couldn't mark them as read, see its contents or open them on a new window.

Mail count for the subscribed folder raises aswell: the attached screenshot
shows 64 unread mails, but there are just three of them (real, unique, unread
mails). By the time I finished reporting this bug the count has raised to 86
(and counting).

May have something to do with #264266

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure an Exchange 2010 account over IMAP (didn't try with other servers,
sorry about that).
2. Open KMail and wait to receive the messages.
3. They are received fine, but they'll keep duplicating after some minutes.
Actual Results:
Every unread mail received is duplicated, but the clones are disabled.

Expected Results:
Receive a mail just once, not many times for the very same mail.

I'm reporting that as an akonadi bug - not kmail, as closing kmail doesn't
prevent akonadi from fetching mails on the background.

I'm using Kubuntu 12.10 with Kubuntu backports PPA enabled.

$ kmail --version
Qt: 4.8.3
KDE Development Platform: 4.10.00
KMail: 4.10

$ akonadiserver --version
Akonadi 1.9.0

Please let me know whether I can provide any other information about my setup
to help you triage the bug. I tested on two different machines (desktop and
laptop) with the very same results.

Could it be that the systray icon is shown on one of your other virtual

We recently fixed a bug where the icon seems to "stick" to one desktop.

One correction: The second system where I could reproduce the same crash was
still running Kontact-4.8.4, so it seems the message triggers an error that
hides already for some time.

I did have the same issues after upgrading to 4.10.0 (gentoo). So I played
around a bit, without any luck. The knotes icon didn't show up under hidden
icons, and it wasnt listed under "Systray Settings" -> "Entries" either. But
knotes created a new note when I tried to start it and it actually was running.
Then I backed up my whole ~/.kde4 folder, deleted share/config/knotesrc and
share/apps/knotes/ and knotes worked again. It still worked when I played back
my complete .kde4 folder. It is possible that I already accidentally "fixed" it
before making the backup, but for some reason it didn't show up.

Myriam, where you able to use knotes again, after you started it once?

kontact (4.10) on KDE Platform 4.10.00 using Qt 4.8.4

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

The issue persists/returned in KDE 4.10.0:

* After login, kontact was started automatically (it is usually not closed
properly due to some other bug)
* There is a KWallet dialogue asking for my password, but I did not enter any
* Apparently the Sieve login timed out and thus Kontact asks for the password
on its own
* I do not immediately enter a password there either
* I enter the Sieve password later and Kontact crashes with attached backtrace

Thanks Laurel, i experienced several problems when updating single packets,
that is why i use this old version.

One other thing i just noticed:
When updating the birthday of somebody (the birthday was set before) and just
updating the year, then clicking "Ok" does not update the birthday, you have
to additionally click on the day in the calendar.

So a birthday is already set, like 4.5.2005 and i just change to 4.5.1971 by
text-editing the year. Then clicking "Ok" does not update the changed date.

Best regards
Torsten

I am using Gmane to provide mailing lists as news. When I try to reply to a
special message (http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.java.xstream.user/8332),
Knode simply crashes as soon as the reply button is hit in the toolbar and the
complete process of Kontact (4.9.5) is terminated. I could reproduce the
behavior on two different machines (both running Kontact/Knode-4.9.5 on Gentoo

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open knode

3. Mark message 8332 (Topic "Attribute placement" by Gregory Sliker)
4. Hit reply to list
Actual Results:
Knode crashes

I have the same problem, also at the end of the reply the signature is added.
So the compelte reply looks like this in the composer window:

On Tuesday 12 February 2013 10:10:00 you wrote:

[Akonadi] [Bug 299589] Some filters don't filter incoming messages automatically, only after manually applying all filters

2013-02-12 Thread Christian Quast
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=299589

After a long time away from Linux I just upgraded to KDE 4.10 and the problem
remains.

Filters that use List-ID don't seem to work at all anymore (at least in the
majority of cases). Also, manually invoking the List-ID filters leave most of
the message untouched now (in my experience it's getting worse).

Filters based on 'All Recipients', however, seem to mostly work.

Version installed (on opensuse 12.2)
akonadi-runtime-1.9.0-127.1.x86_64
akonadi-4.10.0-380.1.x86_64
libakonadi4-4.10.0-317.1.x86_64
libakonadiprotocolinternals1-1.9.0-127.1.x86_64
kmail-4.10.0-380.1.x86_64
cheers

Please keep in mind that bugs.kde.org is not a forum. Such questions shall go
to https://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=215

This is not a bug anyway. You misunderstand what StartServer=false means
(because some wiki give wrong information)

StartServer=false means "Akonadi will not start its own database instance and
instead use a configured server" (ie: system wide). This doesn't mean "do not
start Akonadi".

I have two questions here:

1. Why it even tries to use akonadiserver? I thought that disabling something
via systemsettings would "inform" all sub-systems that the component is not
available;

2. Why "unknown error"? Ok, not every plasmoid may read the system settings,
but `akonadiserver` iself should "know" somehow that it's disabled by user and
return appropriate status?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Disable everything in System Settings > Desktop Search
2. Put "StartServer=false" in ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc
3. Run plasma-desktop from Konsole.

Note: if it doesn't appear, try installing "Lock keys state (QML)" plasmoid
(this is the only one I have added tot he panel beside default ones).
