[kmail2] [Bug 457894] New: DKIM plugin treats ed25119 signed messages as invalid
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457894 Bug ID: 457894 Summary: DKIM plugin treats ed25119 signed messages as invalid Product: kmail2 Version: 5.15.3 Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: k...@kitterman.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** With the DKIM plugin enabled, it appears to treat signatures which use the ed25519 as invalid. Ed25519 was added to DKIM by RFC 8463. Even if RFC 8463 is not supported, according to the current main DKIM RFC, RFC 6376, signatures with unknown algorithms must be ignored (Paragraph 3.3.4). A dual signed RSA-SHA256/ed25519 message should show as DKIM: valid if the RSA signature verifies. This appears not to be the case. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable DKIM plugin 2. Receive dual DKIM signed RSA-SHA256/ed25519 message 3. Select the message OBSERVED RESULT DKIM: invalid EXPECTED RESULT DKIM: valid SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Addition of ed25519 to DKIM is relatively recent and so such signatures can be difficult to come by. If anyone needs a representative email to evaluate this with, please contact me and let me know. I'll be glad to send it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 279336] New: Kmail config wizard retains focus - makes initial configuration on plasma-netbook almost impossible
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279336 Summary: Kmail config wizard retains focus - makes initial configuration on plasma-netbook almost impossible Product: kmail2 Version: 1.99.0 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: k...@kitterman.com Version: 1.99.0 (using KDE 4.7.0) OS:Linux The account configuration wizard will alway retain focus. This means that when kwallet pop-ups or SSL error confirmation dialogues pop-up they are difficult to access with plasma-desktop and impossible to access with plasma-netbook. This did not happen with kdepim 4.4. The default windeco for netbooks maximizes all windows and it is neither possible to shrink the configuration wizard nor to alt-tab to the kwallet access request that is behind it (even if you use present windows and click on the kwallet dialogue, the mail configuration window still ends up on top. This makes kmail almost unusable on netbooks. The only way I've found to do it is switch to plasma-desktop, configure kmail, and then switch back. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: On a fresh install with no kmail accounts configured, run a plasma-netbook session, start kmail and then try to configure it. Actual Results: Mail accounts not set up in akonadi because I couldn't give akonadi permission to access the wallet. Once I managed to get the dialogue accepted, but I'm not quite sure how. Expected Results: Accounts set up and working kmail. OS: Linux (i686) release 3.0.0-7-generic Compiler: gcc Note: I'm marking this major because although it doesn't cause data loss, it makes it pretty impossible to actually get to your data and use it. Without that an MUA is pretty pointless. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
