Catting the SecureBoot efivar in /sys hangs

Status in Provider for Plainbox - Checkbox:

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
During testing, a machine locked up appearing to hang on the secure
boot mode test. Looking at the test logs, both of the things that use
  boot_mode_test.py have triggered this issue:

  miscellanea/reboot_firmware crashed
  miscellanea/secure_boot_mode crashed

as this doesn't do much beyond open up a file in efivars, this is
puzzling behaviour. Need to figure out what would trigger this and
  how to work around it.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1814647] Re: linux: 4.4.0-143.169 -proposed tracker

2019-03-01 Thread Sylvain Pineau
Thanks to Alberto I can confirm the nvidia-384 (nvidia-graphics-
drivers-384 - 384.130-0ubuntu0.16.04.2~ppa1 ) from the nvidia-driver-
staging ppa works on the customer image.

But we still have other dkms modules that still cannot be built
properly. The new kernel can't be then installed.

Bug description:
Upstream i915 code has been feature-frozen for drm-next, and rebasing
i915_bpo to it is fairly simple. We need all the drm_atomic* changes
to date though, in order to avoid oopses loading the driver.
Thankfully i915_bpo is the only driver that uses them (besides msm),
so there's no chance of regressing other drivers that we care about.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1215005] Re: linux: 2.6.32-51.113 -proposed tracker

2013-09-05 Thread Sylvain Pineau
We won't have time this iteration to test the lucid kernel (the lab
setup has changed). Would it be ok to skip the HwCert task?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1215173] Re: linux: 3.2.0-53.81 -proposed tracker

2013-09-05 Thread Sylvain Pineau
The Hardware Certification team have completed testing this -proposed kernel.
The only problem observed was two systems (8050 and 7748) failing wireless
tests (See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1220504
Broadcom BCM4313 Wireless does not work).
But the bug is again in the proprietary drivers, not the -proposed kernel.
The report is available at:
http://people.canonical.com/~hwcert/sru-testing/precise/3.2.0-53.81/precise-proposed.html
