Hi Joseph, I've been on 4.15.18 upstream stable for three weeks now, and the problem seems to be gone. When will the Ubuntu kernel have the fixes incorporated so that I can I switch back from the upstream stable kernel? Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? After upgrading to 18.04, closing the lid regularly (but not always) results in either: 1. The display staying on with a frozen lock-screen, or 2. The display powered off, but the notebook still powered on. In both cases the notebook does not respond. A five-second press of the power button to hard-reboot the computer is the only means of recovery. After powering the notebook back on, there are no files in /var/crash.
