We are sending a lot of alert messages through Koha like book renewal,
hold, overdue, etc. So how can we make this possible to send birthday
wishes from Koha?

The system should match the Koha server date with patron birthday record
and sent a wish as per library defined format like other email alerts?

So, i don’t know if that’s the case with the checkout notices too but after i 
checkout a book, the message_queue table remains empty…






Perhaps, now all messages are sent directly.

Is there a log of some sort i can check, to see if mails are being sent 
correctly?



Also, about the cron jobs, overdue notices and advance notices are not set up 
by default right?

In my cron jobs i only see the message process job and zebra indexing job.

Hi, 

the registration message is a bit difficult as it can contain a password 
and is send directly and not via the message_queue. Better for testing 
is a checkout or checkin notice, as those are generated without 
using a cronjob and should show up directly in the message_queue table. 

Also, make sure that your cronjobs are set up correctly (especially 
overdue_notices and advance_notices).

So, i got emails kind of working.
But whatever email server i use (i tried postfix and exim) i see that koha
is always trying to send emails to root@[mylocalmachine FQDN]

also the from is also not the mail i defined in the library or the system
preferences.
i tried checing in and out from several patrons, and the email gets queued
but always to root instead of the patron's email.

tests with mail command work perfectly.

What am i missing?

We are running version 3.10.09.000. In the summary table after an import, I had 
a line that was number of items ignored because of duplicate barcode: 1. Is 
there a way to see what the barcode is? Or for that matter, if it came back 
with ignored bib records, etc.? The reports library has a lot of item reports, 
but none that seemed to fit that exactly.
