KR> KR2 for sale

2016-02-04 Thread Randall Smith
Jim this is Randy Smith. I had 74372. Sold to Jerry Stern two years ago. He now
has 74372 and 74376.
I have Les Palmer's KR 2 with The bigger Subaru engine. It is a single seat. It
needs some fiberglass work and brakes worked on. Last time I flew it was last
year. Pulled the wings off so I could get my cruiseair and my 310 in the
hanger. I will let it go for $5000 if you want to come get it. There is no
radio transponder or ELT in the airplane. No negotiations good price just need
to get it out-of-the-way. Any less than that and I could parted out for more.
If you are interested call me at 940-368-7973 I am just north of Fort Worth at

Beside what Mark said. ? ? One of my most used tools is this
air-angle-die-grinder/?rotary sander.Make sure you add three drops of 3an1 type
oil everyday you use it.

An absolute must have for me was a good wet / dry vac. I'm a bit of a clean
freak and believe me, there will be a lot of saw dust, foam dust and fiberglass
dust.

One thing I will use a LOT on my next fuselage is a bench-mounted belt
sander/disk sander. They sell these at harbor freight for a reasonable
price (when on sale), and they make very quick work of truing up the
ends of wooden members, changing the angles of gusset blocks, and that
sort of thing. They are a lot safer than chop saws too, especially on
those little gussets. Troy Petteway told me he could have built his
whole fuselage with just that one tool, although I'm guessing a fine
handsaw would come in handy for cutting to rough length, failing a
bandsaw, which is also nice to have. I already had one when he told me
this, and I do use it just about every night for something, and I'm not
even building another plane yet! See
http://www.harborfreight.com/4-inch-x-36-inch-belt-6-inch-disc-sander-97181.html
. I have a pretty coarse belt and disk on mine, which lasts a long time
and doesn't make so much fine dust in the air.

The bandsaw also comes in very handy for cutting out aluminum fittings.
Wood blades work pretty well for that, and last a lot longer than you
would think...
