Re: [lace] Practical Skills in Bobbin Lace
Very interesting! www.amazon.co.uk does indeed list this volume, with the release date as Jean mentioned, and a picture of the new cover. www.amazon.com (the US version) does not list the new volume at all, and lists the old one as being out of print (except for one exorbitantly overpriced used copy). [lace] Practical Skills in Bobbin Lace
In November mention was made that this book was out of print, but that it was to be republished in paperback. Browsing Amazon and Tesco, I noticed they both have it listed as due 1st February 2005 - looks like Amazon might be showing the new cover. [lace] Practical Skills
Hi Speaking to Bridget Cook at the weekend she said that Practical Skills was going to be reprinted by Batsford but with a different cover. So look out for it at your usual suppliers. Who said no-one was talking I had 42 e-mails this morning! [lace] Practical Skills (The Cookbook) on ebay plus what are these?
There's a copy of the now out-of-print? "Practical Skills in Bobbin Lace" by Bridget Cook on ebay (and hardback). Considered by some of us to be essential. Starting bid wanted of 4 pounds 99 pence (approx. 9 US dollars). http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3593028947&category=112 4 or search for item number 3593028947 And what are these (apart from the pastry crimper)? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3278249569&category=114 or search for item number 3278249569 I've emailed and told him/her that I don't know what they are, but they're not lace bobbins. So far the description's not been changed, but then perhaps he/she doesn't really want any bids. The only way anyone will bid on them is if they know what they are, and then they'd have to find them by accident. [lace] Practical skills book
For all the Aussies - I was browsing in Collins Book shop the other day, and came across a paperback - Cook & Stott - Book of BL Stitches. It was the only lace book in the shop, and was on sale! (I already have a hard-cover copy). Most good books on lace of any sort, have very short runs, and publishers don't seem to be interested in reprinting them. I have not seen a Practical Skills book for ages. - Just glad I treated myself to it when I did.!! from Liz in Melbourne, Oz, [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
