Btw: for those outsied UK, a NIMBY is a Not-In-My-Back-Yard person.

[lace-chat] sending messages

2011-01-30 Thread Agnes Boddington

Hope someone more computer literate than me, can help.
I have a mailing list for friends and family, but when I send an email to
this list, all the names and email addresses appear on.
e.g. When I get a message from Archne, I can not see the email addresses of
others on the list, but when I do the same to my contacts, you do.

From a security point not very good.

Is there any setting o stop this from happening?

If you want to send any message to several people without all of their
addresses showing use the 'BCC' box (blind carbon copy) rather than the 'CC'
box (carbon copy). Your system may require you to put at least one address
into the 'to' box, but that can be the list address.

[lace-chat] sending messages

DH sends out messages to multiple friends and addresses them to himself in
the To: box and everyone else he wants to receive it goes in the Bcc: box,
so none of them know who else has received it.

[lace-chat] sending to mailing list

2011-01-30 Thread Agnes Boddington

Hello all,
I had several responses to my question about sending emails to multiple
addresses. All adviced me to use BCC for my list of addresses, and one
person suggested to put my own email in the to box.

Will try this next time.
Many thanks for all your help,
Agnes Boddington

It seems to be the season for silly e-mails.  Fortunately I got the question
wrong!!

Jeanette Fischer, Western Cape, South Africa.

Read this question, come up with an answer and then scroll down to the
bottom for the result. This is not a trick question. It is as it reads.

No one I know has been right.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not
know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy
so much, that she fell in love with him right there but never asked for his
number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister?

[Give this some thought before you answer, see answer below]

Answer:
She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again. If you answered
this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous
American Psychologist used to test if one has the same
mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in the test
and answered the question correctly. If you didn't answer the question
correctly, good for you. If you got the answer correct, please let me know
so I can take you off my email list.

He has now said why didn't I get the answer right (like I'm going to admit
that).

Hubby has explained his thinking that if the guy was there he must be a friend
of the woman's mother hence her killing her sister so he'd turn up again.

When I said this must make him a psychopath he was quite unphased by it and
is, I think , actually proud of the fact

I did not get the correct answer either (and after reading through, was
relieved!!). I posed the question to my DH, and he had absolutely no
idea about an answer. So, I'm sleeping soundly tonight, as usual.

On the other hand, I suspect with all of the CSI episodes out there, if
your DH likes to watch them, *that* could explain his answer. If so,
you can sleep soundly too!!
