Maybe the zoom is too big on the Wiki main page; I have just scaled it down a little. As a comparison I have updated the Wiki sidebar logo with just the graphic, which seems a little "bare" by comparison to the version with the text. We could add the LEAF text below the graphic, which would also make it roughly square. Re: [leaf-devel] LEAF Project Logo - Time for an update?
Hi David, of course, I'm only speaking for myself - but I like the logo very much. Very generic and simple. To me, it brings across the idea of a framework nicely, and the "leaf" idea is very well incorporated as well. So speaking for myself, I'd be very happy with that logo for LEAF. Using the veins of a leaf to represent a network is what I had in mind long ago, but I wasn't able to generate something that looked respectable. A simple SVG animation of a pulse following the leaf veins might be feasible also. >> Example: >> http://alpinelinux.org/ >> >>> Freelance logo designs seem to come in under $50 and I'd be willing to >>> pay that myself. >> >> Any improvements are most welcome. I'm not aware of any logo at all :), so if you can come up with some refreshed, it will be fine with me. Most important is indeed the change from "firewall" to "framework". If the new logo can be used on old (and new pages, once Mike has make progress with his plans) the better. kp Thx for not only spending time, but also willing to spend money. -- Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond. [leaf-devel] LEAF Project Logo - Time for an update?
Hi all, I've added a Software Infobox to our Wikipedia page (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/LEAF_Project). I was going to upload the LEAF Project Logo but Wikipedia asks *lots* of questions about Copyright for image uploads and I'm not clear about where our current logo came from and who owns the Copyright. The current logo also still says *Firewall* rather than *Framework*. For a while I've been thinking about commissioning a new Logo, so maybe now's the time. I'm thinking something easier to read when scaled down, and with more of a "LEAF" (of a tree) motif. Freelance logo designs seem to come in under $50 and I'd be willing to pay that myself. Thoughts? david -- Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
