[LegacyUG] Search and Replace in Source Detail, Name, Text/Comments
I have been entering a ton of German church records recently. When I enter these records, I am usually entering text/comments into three fields; name, birth and baptism. This morning I noticed that one of the words I have been entering, coningum is actually coniugum. This is in the name field, in relation to the parents. When I try Search and Replace, I can't seem to find the correct Find Where. Can anybody help me. Thanks so much. Re: [LegacyUG] Search and Replace in Source Detail, Name, Text/Comments
In the Family View, I click on the icon for Show List of Assigned Sources, which brings up Assigned Sources For: I click on Name then click Edit Detail, which brings up the Edit Source Detail, and then click on the tab for Text/Comments. This is where I am trying to change hundred-plus occurances of coningum to coniugum. I hope this helps. Sorry for the confusion. There are Given name, Surname, Dates-Birth, Dates-Baptism, Location fields for each and notes, for all of which one can use Search and Replace, so exactly where are you putting this word? Re: [LegacyUG] Missing footnotes in Mod. Register Report
Hi Cathy, Do some of your events have multiple citations? Try this. Click on Report Menu (Charts). Click on Report Options at the bottom center. Click the Sources tab On the left side, third box down, make sure that the box for if an event has multiple citations, combine them into one paragraph IS NOT! CHECKED. I had this problem, and I believe this is what was causing it. Register Report To fellow Legacy users, Does anyone else have this problem of missing footnotes? I have created a Modified Register Report with source citation footnotes on the bottom of each page. However, while page 9 of the report shows footnotes number 30 through 40, page 10 shows footnotes starting with number 45. So, what happened to footnotes numbers 41 through 44? I've this problems of missing footnotes on several pages of the report where there are a lot of footnotes. When I turn the source citations into end notes, all the missing ones appear. But I would prefer to have the source citations as footnotes on their respective pages since it is easier to read them there. Does anyone have any suggestions?I guess I would have to report this as a bug. By the way, I'm using Legacy Version: 7.0.0.90 on Windows XP. I'm curious to know if anyone else has this problem. [LegacyUG] Run time error '5'
I recently had several conversations with Legacy tech support about my Run time error '5' problem, anytime I entered new info and then saved. She told me to uninstall and reinstall. I tried this, but I continued to have this problem. It got to the point where I did not use Legacy on my main computer, and just used it on a separate machine in my bedroom. Since that time, I have once again subscribed to the UG and noticed that many people were trying to uninstall/reinstall and finding that the program would not reinstall because of the missing install file. That appears to be my problem, and from what I understand, the fix requires some editing in the registry files. Can anyone tell me what this fix is? Thanks much.
