RE: [LegacyUG] Adding a Husband as Unknown

2007-02-27 Thread David Cripps
Thanks to all the replies, it worked first time of course, but I'm dismayed
that I couldn't see the answer myself.

But as Richard suggests it's always an idea to write the RIN down of the
unlinked individual before plunging in.

Thanks Again

2007-02-27 Thread RICHARD SCHULTHIES
What you need to do, in general, is, take unlink all
the 'wrong' links, take the child and link the mother
{alone} as a parent. The father will be either
'blank' or 'unknown' per your choices.
When doing Unlinking, I always print out, or hand
write, all the RINs in advance.

RE: [LegacyUG] Adding a Husband as Unknown

2007-02-27 Thread Cathy

Or unlink the child from the current parents
and then choose Add mother and link to existing person. That will
create another "marriage" with blank/unknown spouse depending on your
setting in Options > Customise.

Dave,

Unlink the child from the current parents.
Create another marriage for the mother using "Unknown" for the name
Link the child to the new marriage (mother + unknown)

You can then either: (a) leave the name of the father as unknown or
(b) in right click on him and delete.

I have one female already with 2 husbands, but I now discover that one of
the children whilst still having the same biological mother had an Unknown
father.

Yes I can unlink the son, but is there a way to ADD an Unknown Husband to
the wife (as a third spouse), so that I may then in turn add the unlinked
son back again?

I've had a look through the list archives, but can't seem to lob onto
exactly what I want, and the Help file in legacy doesn't exactly help
either.

Hope I've explained this in an understandable format.
