Jan, Mine just says married someone. I shouldn't even have a marriage. It seems that if a woman had an illegitimate child, Legacy automatically assumes a marriage or relationship with someone. You're at least doing better that I am at getting the report to read "somewhat" correctly. Jan, If a person has a child then Legacy creates a marriage to an "Unknown" I have it set so that this person is "blank": Customise>Data Format select "just leave blank" (bottom right). If I find an unknown apprearing in family view when the partner is highlighted I right click the unknown and delete. You may also find it necessary to select the marriage/partnership/relationship on the marriage screen and select "this couple did not marry". As you have described it, what you see looks to be correct.
