[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144885] french keyboard numpad dot instead comma
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144885 --- Comment #1 from Mike Kaganski --- What is the state of "Decimal separator key" checkbox under Options/Language Settings/Languages? In its checked state, it *should* make the button in question to result in your locale's separator. If your locale is correctly set in LibreOffice to use comma as decimal separator (which is OK, as you say that dot is not recognized as part of a number), and the checkbox is set, then failure to have comma from the key would mean something preventing LibreOffice to recognize that the key is actually the numpad key. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144884] New: Sudden Change in Basic Ability to Copy & Paste
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144884 Bug ID: 144884 Summary: Sudden Change in Basic Ability to Copy & Paste Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2 all versions Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rebeccamk...@gmail.com Description: To Whom It May Concern: Beginning just two days ago, I suddenly no longer have the ability to copy what would be even basic text content, over to a LibreOffice document. Rather than performing what would seem to be a most basic function, this simple feature (which previously operated in a satisfactory fashion) has suddenly stopped working as expected. In a Senate Committee hearing a few months ago, media servers Google (Google and YouTube), Facebook (Facebook and Instagram) and Twitter were providing the Senate Committee with information pertaining to their access, use and censorship of user content. The hearing was addressing several security and censorship concerns that users along with government representatives, had identified as being needful to further investigate, as related to accessing and utilizing these platforms. Does LibreOffice provide cooperative action with any of these organizations, or independently, in such a way that would contribute to the compromise of LibreOffice user privacy, LibreOffice application functionality, or any form of censorship mechanisms (or accommodation thereof)? This sudden problem with the basic functionality of my LibreOffice - which I had previously been very pleased with - is certainly a matter of great concern to me, as normal tasks and functions which would be common, and general purposes for which I might utilize LibreOffice, no longer seem to be functional for me. Further, when choosing to use any application or platform, this is done with a reasonable level of trust in the integrity of a company and all operators, and in the appropriateness of decisions being made by such; in order to ensure that my privacy as a user is maintained, that my rights as a consumer to utilize a platform or application is without undue and/or inappropriate actions of a company and/or operators, and that the general use of the application or service remains operational, and is satisfactorily maintained. Beyond this greatest concern, there seems to be no reasonable explanation for there to be a sudden malfunctioning in the operation of this standard feature, as it is a feature that is common, and not complex. Is this happening to other users that may similarly be experiencing difficulty? What trends have been observed by other users, if so? Thank you very much. Sincerely, Rebecca Kiel Steps to Reproduce: 1. Copy text content. 2. Paste text content. 3. Actual Results: When copying and pasting even the most basic text content into a LibreOffice document, the function is not successful. This is a very recent change. Previously, I was able to copy and paste anything needed for either my work or leisure use of LibreOffice, which included (but not limited to) spreadsheets, complex text with images, and so on. Expected Results: When copying and pasting even basic text content, this has not been functioning appropriately, as would be expected within my normal, previous, everyday use of LibreOffice. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: "Copied" content should be able to be "pasted" into a LibreOffice document, without any difficulty. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144879] Minor wording corrections
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144879 --- Comment #3 from John --- The reasons to rename "Application Colors" is that: 1. If the user wants to find a section about colors, he would quicky scan the list of setting for the word "color". And as the most of writers know, the most important word in the heading/title should come first. That is, "Application Colors" is simply less convenient than "Colors", that's it. 2. Also, why not "Application Paths" and "Application Fonts" then? Isn't it better to be consistent? The reasons to rename "Locale setting" is that the word "setting" is just clearly superfluous: 1. The word "setting" is obvious 2. The word "setting" doesn't used for other settings, so it breaks consistency 3. Have you ever saw a software that uses the word "setting" in the setting description? It just doesn't look/sound right (professional). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144872] New color filter is broken -> Freeze
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144872 --- Comment #2 from Andreas Säger --- (In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #1) > How did you install LO 7.1.2 ? From LO website, from LO ppa, other? > Also, could you upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 (if you want to stick to LTS) or > Ubuntu 21.04 ? > I mean Wayland is quite new so a recent Ubuntu version may help. My LO 7.2.1 was downloaded from https://libreoffice.org. The new feature does not work (Wayland) or it makes the program freeze (X11). Apart from that, it should never have been implemented. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144882] New: OCR with layout
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144882 Bug ID: 144882 Summary: OCR with layout Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rob...@gmx.com LibreOffice could do with an OCR component that can substitute for ABBYY FineReader. That's to be able to capture from the screen or a document then OCR and convert to clipboard or document, embedding the recognised text in the document with the same layout as the original. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144877 --- Comment #2 from John Kaufmann --- Thanks for your quick reply. I would do so, but can't reproduce the problem, even with LO 7.1.4.2. (As I reported, this crash happened in the course of copy-pasting some strings of text from a Word (DOCX) file to a Writer (ODT) file -- before the crash, no problem, and after the crash, no problem.) I was reluctant to even bother anyone with it, but was trying to be a conscientious user and respond to the crash as requested, while emphasizing that the crash was not reproduced. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

That bug is also a regression in 7.1 series (7.0 is good), and already bibisected (to a range, but with an obvious suspect). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144880 Telesto changed: What|Removed |Added CC||libreoff...@nisz.hu --- Comment #4 from Telesto --- @NISZ A bug or feature topic. The arrow key behavior is apparently an addition to the initial purpose of the commit (or a side-effect presented as desired to prevent additional work). I personally against different behavior of same object type only based on the source file format. Moving stuff intentionally of page makes no sense to me; against the wysiwyg principle (in my perception). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
