Terrence: thank you Terrence for your test! We can update status to "New" now.
Could you remind your env and version?

Could you also give a try to fdo#57901? I would say it could be a dup.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Import pdf file with Chinese Character

Current behavior:All Chinese fonts change to outline fonts. English fonts
change to San style from original Times Roman Style (my system are of most font
styles and should be sufficient to use). Alignments is ugly or, let say,
alignment is impossible since most character are place in one individual text

Thank you for the detailed analysis. I can confirm, Save as ODF 1.2 produces a

I simply used the "1.2 Extended (recommended)" mode, and due to help this
should only allow comments in Draw and Impress, I wonder why this also causes a
syntax error in Writer.

This is the tracking Bug for all bugs related to the problem that clicking the

Since we started LibO the context sensitivity of Help has been lost more and
more. Users can expect that clicking the Help button in a dialog will lead them
exactly the the help chapter for this dialog, not to the Help start page.

"i take it the CPython GIL is not recursive?"

I suppose so... The patch has fixed my problem and it doesn't seem to cause
problems.

"my understanding is that due to the messy licensing situation we can only
apply that on master and the 4.0 branch, but not the 3.6 branch"

Well, given the very trivial nature of the fix (it's merely swapping code
lines), I find this rather weird.
Please try to doublecheck you cannot apply this fix on earlier versions indeed.

Thanks for your consideration.

Where have I had my eyes?!
Works fine with "LibreOffice 3.6.4.3" German UI/ German Locale [Build-ID:

[Reproducible] with parallel installation of "LOdev 4.0.0.0.beta1 - GERMAN
UI / German Locale [Build ID: 87906242e87d3ddb2ba9827818f2d1416d80cc7)]"
{tinderbox: @6, pull time 2012-12-06} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with
separate /4 User Profile for Master Branch.

I see 2 Effects,
a) the semi transparent background rectangles as shown in the screenshots
   in presentation edit mode
b) in Slideshow some "background colored St. Elmo's fire"

The picture itself seems ok? I extracted it after having saved the slideshow as
.odp from 3.6.4 and 4.0, no difference, works fine, also when I import the
pictures into the sample. But stop, the problem also disappears when I save the
sample document from LibO 3.6.4 AND when I save it from LibO 4.0 as .odp. This
causes very bad other problems, but the picture background disappears.

Compression problem or similar? I will have to think about that tomorrow.

2012-12-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48440

strike my last comment. It is because of a missing closing bracket (}) which
causes the error.

see example code:

{\rtf1\ansi\deff0
{\fonttbl}
{\pard\plain\posx8740\posy9060{A}
{\par\plain\par
}}

The bracket after the A is missing and breaks LO. So this is a problem a) on
the error handling and moreover on the saving of RTF.

"Fresh": do you mean with a brand new LO profile (see
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)?
If not, could you rename your LO directory profile and test again?

If you still reproduce, could you answer these questions
- did you install any specific fonts?
- did you install any specific extensions?

 CC||vmik...@suse.cz
Summary|Invalid Document after |"style:contextual-spacing"
   |FILESAVE: error in |is not valid ODF 1.2
   |styles.xml |

i get the same error here with ODFToolkit validator as the
office-o-tron one in the attachment:

Documents/issues/fdo#58112/out_master_12ext.odt/styles.xml[2,5103]: Error:
unexpected attribute "style:contextual-spacing"

this only happens when using ODF 1.2 extended (default) format;
not when saving as 1.1 or 1.2.

the attribute "style:contextual-spacing" is indeed not in ODF 1.2
but since LO doesn't write it when set to ODF 1.2 it's not really a problem.

just checked with 3.6.3.1, still there.

Using a line style with one thick and one thin line,
in Writer, the thin line is always on the inside of the cell,
in Calc it is always bottom and right.

is a beta version (feature complete) and there is no mention in the
documentation that this will change to the final release, I consider it a bug.

This is tricky because really we must abide by ODF standards. I'll mark as NEW
as it's an interesting idea but when a dev looks at it they very well might say
"it's not a standard" and that IS a valid response.

That being said we might be able to do something internally, I'm not up to date
enough on standards and our policies regarding standards to know.

Marking as NEW, Enhancement, Lowest

NEW (Confirmed)
Enhancement (already set)
Lowest (very few users would actually benefit from this, might not meet
standards, somewhat difficult to implement)

But I smell a rat here. Surely an ordinary opensource user like myself who does
not care about builds, coding, versions, packages etc, should be defended
against this type of software corruption. I wasted days on end to get my data
from one database to the other. Surely Libreoffice should do or say something
to Ubuntu about this corruption of Libreoffice software. Launchpad bug 779798
proves that the voice of users is ignored. Regards

I'm marking this as NEW and an enhancement request

Marking as LOW priority because of how difficult it is to implement plus there
are tools (I know these are harder to use) that can effectively do these
things, definitely would be nice to have a built in editor.

What I can warn is that this is a tremendous undertaking and will require a ton
of work by any developer. Because of this it's unlikely to happen in the near
future, our team is really stretched thing. Maybe going forward a team of
developers will take this on. Also see
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34423, which is a similar request

IMO this is an issue that the creator of the extension should look at (if
he/she wants it to be compatible with LibO). Furthermore, extensions taken from
AOO site aren't guaranteed to work with LibO at all as our code is different.

I'm marking this as INVALID as it's a bug against an extension that is intended
for AOO not LibO. My recommendation is to send the developer a message
requesting that they make it available for LibO.

Thanks for your understanding and patience with getting someone to look at this

Did you connect with LO to an external version of HSQLDB? If you have connected
to an external version and this external version is already installed in the
classpath of Java, Lo tries to use this external version of the HSQLDB.

from the combination of "regression" keyword, "version: 3.5.7" and "last worked

Confirmed.

Marking:
Version: 3.6.3.2 on Bodhi Linux

New (confirmed)
Normal (can prevent high quality work, interoperability problems with MSO)
High (interoperability, .doc a common format, indented styles relatively common
when users are using styles)

Thanks for reporting this one and we'll see if someone can take a look at it
soon

Reproduced on 3.6.3.2

Marking:

New (Confirmed)

Normal (Can prevent high quality/professional work)

High (saving as .docx is pretty normal, adding an extra line after each
paragraph is problematic. Furthermore, in some cases this may result in
penalties for users such as if a user submits a paper that has a length limit
and these extra lines push it over the limit.

Thanks for reporting this one, sorry it took a few months to triage it!

Created attachment 71355

Working filter in dropdownlist

If you create a query, which joins the tables, you could create new listboxes
in the form. This listbox shows the same content as connected to the query. So
you get the filter, as it should work for you.
