Already reproducible with LibO 3.3.3 and OOo 3.4.0, so inherited from OOo.

The grouped object in the sample document has been created with a LibO Vrsion
end 2011 or so.

Currently the problem is only reproducible with those particular elements, not
with new groups created from the scratch

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61656] New: broken functionality on Page Layout tab

2013-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61656

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61656
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: broken functionality on Page Layout tab
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: tima...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

1. Go to File - Print - Page Layout tab
2. Set Pages per sheet to 4
3. Change the Order combo box

Result: the preview image does not change, and LibreOffice always prints the
pages in "left to right, then down" order, regardless of the Order setting.

It is a regression, it used to work in 3.6. It may be related to .ui conversion
of the dialog.

Strange thing. Info in my Seamonkey Download Manager is that I downloaded 70,9

problem might have been caused by browser or whatever.

Second attempt:
File size before I start installation: 193.449.984 bytes on HD.
And Installation worked fine now

So INVALID for now

Given the difficulty in reproducing the problem and the, blocker is not
correct.
I've taken the liberty to change it to critical.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36815

Honestly having it on MAB list is against policy as it's for bugs and never for
enhancements.

As for an ETA on this - it's really hard to say. Please understand that most of
our developers are volunteers and just do this as a hobby. Those who are paid
by a company usually are tackling the daunting bugs that cause serious problems
in our software.

If you really want this done soon, might be good to try to find someone who
will do it for a small fee. While TDF doesn't endorse any outside funding (ie.
user does it on their own), I know one place that is gaining some popularity is
http://www.freedomsponsors.org/, if enough people want it maybe you can raise
enough to find someone to tackle it sooner.

Otherwise, it's a "wait and see" - if a developer sees it and really wants to
work on it (and of course has the time and the understanding of that code)
it'll happen.

Best,
Joel

Somehow I think you are just doing something differently than I am. Guess we

I too do miss this excellent functionality of WORD.

I even volunteer for testing if the version can be installed parallel to my

Ugly rendering with TimesNewRoman size 12, both with and without kerning,
clearly visible at 75% (see the odt and the screenshot).

The rendering with Times (and apparently with TimesNewRoman size 11!) is fine.

Does this happen because TimesNewRoman size 12 is the default for a new file?

We have Prior, Next, Last, First, and so forth

We could have assigned special page 0~9, as "ctrl + 0~9" like in RTS game, up

Also the "back" to last page, could we have the behaviour, better work like in

Original file

Problem description:
The two words right under are is meant to stay at the end of the arrows, but
they are moved about an inch to the left when opened in LibreOffice.

Steps to reproduce:
1. The document was created in MSoffice 2010, and modified in MSoffice 2007.

2. I then opened the presentation in LO 4.0.0.3 (Windows Portable Apps
edition), and the problem occurred. (Later verified in LO 3.6.0.4 Windows
desktop edition, where it also occurs)

4 Exported the problematic sheet in MSO 2007 for testing

3. Saved the opened PPTX file in LO (as PowerpointLO_Verschoven.odp) and
re-opened in MSO 2007, and now the placing was wrong in MSO as well.

4 Opened the LO-saved_Transition.odp in MSO 2010 and the following errors were
given:

"Powerpoint found a problem with content in PowrpointLO_verschoven.odp
Powerpoint can attempt to repair the presentation
If you trust the source of this presentation, click Repair"

(and after repair)

"Powerpoint removed unreadable content in PowerpointLO_verschoven.dop
[Repaired]
You should review the presentation to determine whether any content was
unexpectedly changed or removed"

(Also the background color of the image was changed)

5 Saved the original file in MSO as OpenDocumentPresentation (PowerPoint2010
MS_ODF.odp) and opened in LO, but the text was still wrong.

Current behavior:
The two words right under are is meant to stay at the end of the arrows, but
they are moved about an inch to the left when opened in LibreOffice.

Expected behavior:
Stay on the end of the arrows.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61306] Nested frames with transparency causes horizontal line artifacting

2013-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61306

I can confirm this using LibreOffice 3.4.3 and Windows XP and LibreOffice
3.6.5.2 on an up-to-date Arch Linux install.

I reproduced the problem by creating a frame within a frame within a frame. I
made the outside frame have a green background and the middle frame white and
10% transparent so it'd be very visible. I left the sub-sub-frame

One workaround that I noticed was that you can make the offending sub-frames
HAVE a background color, but be 100% transparent and the line problem goes
away. Unfortunately, I'm guessing that specifying transparency probably calls
for extra unnecessary/wasteful processing.

I exported a pdf from the glitchy document and it came out without the flaw.

But when I printed the document from both MS Windows and from Linux, the line
artifacts WERE printed. This problem does seem to affect all platforms.

I can confirm this bug using LibreOffice 3.4.3 on Windows XP and LibreOffice
3.6.5.2 on an up-to-date Arch Linux install.

This is really bad. It completely changes the behavior of that function in a
way that severely interrupts my workflow. It also would break any macro using
any of the "select to XXX block margin" commands.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how something so fundamental to
basic spreadsheet navigation could change in such a dramatic way without
drawing more attention.

I've been able to confirm that this bug appears as far back as LibreOffice
3.4.3 using Windows XP.

Here is another way to reproduce the error:

* Start a new spreadsheet
* Starting with cell A1, enter some data into column A, and numbers into column
B
* Data -> Sort
* Sort by any criteria, just hit "OK"
* Insert a new row 1
* Add headings to row 1 (something like "Name" and "Age")
* Click around to make sure nothing is selected
* Data -> Subtotal

Notice that the actual header rows are ignored and the two items listed in the
box "Calculate subtotals for" list the first row of DATA instead of the headers
like they should.

It appears that whenever the Subtotals function is called, it's limiting the
selected region of data, probably to cut out the header row. But the actual
Subtotal function is already ALWAYS cutting out the header row. It's impossible
to run a subtotal on a section of data that doesn't include a header row, but
that's another story.

Sadly, I cannot share the document I'm working on. I don't have the permission
from the author. :(

As a general description, this document is very very large, a huge amount of
text, with very long chapters, many diagrams (those are the images) and more
and more neverending text. I had to divide it on many documents (it took around
8 separate documents) in order to lower the chances for the images to start
behave strangely: disappearing or reappear misplaced (on other pages of the
document.). The wole thing would take more than 700 A4-sized pages.

Answering to your question: I did use "Insert/Picture from file", that was the
only method for inserting the images.

I've seen many reports about this issue around many pages on the web, regarding
both LibreOffice and OpenOffice respective "writer" components, so I know I'm
not the only person coming across this issue.

Thanks for your help! I'll turn the status back to UNCONFIRMED now.

When RTF or DOCX files containing equations are opened in Writer, all of the
equation objects are stretched or shrunk to be the same size, with the
resulting document unreadable. (This is on OS X 10.6.8.)

A remedy is to individually click on each equation to let writer automatically
resize it. This process is time consuming, however, and runs afoul of bugs

as ODT, the formulas are lost) and 36634

Hi abssorb,
this is because 0 represent the start date and one of default values is date
31/12/1899.
You can see and set the date for (0) start date in
Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice Calc/Calculation - Date.

Because deleting A1 with delete, (Ctrl+1 to see how date format remains) only
clear the cell content no the cell format. To clear all (you can select what)
the key is Backspace. Using Backspace (all) the A2 format is reverted.

I think there is not a bug.
Changed the status to resolved notabug, if you are not agree please reopen it.

here are the steps to create the file (as far as I can remember...).

Goto the template center (http://templates.libreoffice.org/template-center).

Search for "CV".

Download the one with "JOE BLOGGS" in the top left corner.

Open the template and save it as a normal ".odt" file.

Change page layout to landscape.

Change the number of columns to two.

(That should be it. I think...)

The file that, during editing, causes the crash

Hi!

I use LibreOffice version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID:
7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89) with the Swedish langpack on Fedora
17.

I downloaded all files directly from LibreOffice.org

I could not generate a backtrace because I could not find binaries with
symbols. Where are those binaries by the way?

It's now 10 pm in Sweden and I do not feel tempted to build everything from
source :-)

Steps to reproduce:

- Open attached file
- Move to end of file (after "articles.")
- Press backspace in order to delete everything on page two
- Release backspace
- Watch LibreOffice go down...

Reproducibility: always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61444] No kerning between letters of different colors

2013-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61444

I imagine that this has always been like that, and it'll be because the text is
split into different "portions" because the properties are different and each
run sent to vcl and down eventually into icu (or whatever) as two different
blocks.

Raw debugging starting point would be a breakpoint in IcuLayoutEngine::layout
vcl/generic/glyphs/gcach_layout.cxx and dig back up the backtrace to find the
code that's splitting the text up according to different properties and see if
there's any way to avoid the split due to just color, while still being able to
render each resulting half with a different color persumably as a different
writer "portion"

It *might* just work that if the runs differ only by color that adding in the
preceeding/following chars as extra context to the ones we want the positions
of might work, depending on what the intermediate layers do.

e.g. theory might be
REDBLUE
right now, ask for positions of "RED" in one portion and then for "BLUE" in
another
future, one portion asks for "REDB" and only use positioning results for RED,
then other portion asks for "DBLUE" and only use the results for BLUE.

Marcus - if the other bug is a regression this very well could be a different

I have tested this. Seems to be a bug since the start of LO. Doesn't work in LO
3.3.4, LO 3.6.5.2 and LO 4.0.1.1 under OpenSuSE 11.4 32 bit rpm. You couldn't
change a table without primary-key to a table with primary key in the GUI.

Only possibility to add a primary-key is to use
Extras → SQL
ALTER TABLE "Tablename" ADD PRIMARY KEY ("Fieldname")

I set this bug to "New" and the Version to 3.3.4.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61634] New: Calc: Strange data subtotals auto range selection issue

2013-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61634

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61634
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Calc: Strange data subtotals auto range selection
issue
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: crx...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

There is some unusual relation between Data Sort and Data Subtotals that can
cause minor issues under certain circumstances. Here is an illustration:

* Create a new spreadsheet.
* Start in A1 and enter several names going down.
* Now start in B1 and enter several matching numbers going down.
* Data-> Sort and check that it automatically selects all your data.
* Also note in Options that "Range contains column labels" is unselected.
* Perform the sort for column A.
* Now insert a row before row 1 for a header row.
* Add appropriate headers, like "Name" in A1 and "Dollars" in B1.
* Data-> Subtotals
* Note that the first row is not included in the automatically selected range.
At this point is is impossible to perform the data subtotals correctly and you
have to cancel the whole operation.

The workaround is to select the range manually, BEFORE activating Data->
Subtotals. I have verified this is a regression from OpenOffice 3.2.1 which
did not have this problem.

I wish I can have a printable/editable material from my presentation.

Maybe with an optional "page interruption" between original slides.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61629] New: Calc: Print File Directly with range selected no longer asks user

2013-02-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61629

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61629
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Calc: Print File Directly with range selected no
longer asks user
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: crx...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

In OpenOffice Calc, when a range is selected and then Print File Directly is
activated, a dialog would appear and ask the user "Do you want to print the
selection or the entire document?".

In LibreOffice this dialog does not appear and it immediately prints the whole
sheet or document without asking the user. This appears to be a regression
from a better past behavior.

Also- in both LibreOffice and OpenOffice Calc, when a range is selected and the
regular print function is activated, it still defaults to "Selected sheets"
instead of "Selected cells." It might be better if it changes to "Selected
cells" just to be more friendly. Generally, when a user has a range selected
and then performs an action (such as print), they mean for it to only happen to
the selected range.

Will attach a screenshot of the missing dialog.
