Help says:
https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Shortcut_Keys_for_Writer
Ctrl+Backspace Delete text to beginning of word

So the error report looks valid. The bug was inherited from OOo.

[Reproducible] with parallel Dev-installation of "Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+
(Build ID: 0b4315077a6827798e1d2bdae73298365ba9a01) TinderBox: Win-x86@6,
Branch:master, Pull Time: 2013-04-18_04:00:51" ENGLISH UI / German Locale on
German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with LODev/4 Masters User Profile

Steps how to reproduce:
0. Install Extension, close LibO, restart
1. open attached sample document, check B1
Expected: should have same value as cell A1 with same number of decimals
Actual: small difference between values A1 and Be (shown in B2),
B1 shows only 4 decimals instead of expected 8 ones. All
unexpected vanishes with

This problem might be related to the version with what the sample document has
been created. so for your own tests please create a new document and follow
reporter's instructions.

Migtht still have been ok with
* Server Installation of "LibO 4.0.0.3 - GERMAN UI / German Locale [Build
ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89)]" {tinderbox: @6, pull time

with own separate User Profile
* server installation of "LibreOffice 3.5.7.2  German UI/Locale [Build-ID:

2012-06-05 23:16:58)
* OOo 4.0-dev

Attention, this problem seems to be not 100% reproducible, if value generated
by extension did not change between save and reopen, it looks as if the problem
does not exist. I learned this after my tests where they started so the results
might not be reliable. For a test you will have to remember the A1 value when
you save, test is only useful if you have a different value in A1 after
FILEOPEN.

It seems that this is neither simply Extension nor simply LibO problem but
something with interaction?

Please also see "Bug 63824 - GetQuote 1.1: breaks cell formatting " and "Bug
63823 - GetQuote 1.1: Installation fails with Java error message", where
confirmation and additional research is required.

Screenshot showing splash screen with misplaced progress bar

In LibreOffice 4.0, the progress bar on the new splash screen is placed wrong.
It's at the very bottom and at the right, and it's also smaller than it should
be (I think the progress bar should be where the grey bar is). It's hard to
tell from the screenshot, but if you look closely you'll see the progress bar
and the purple line at the very bottom of the splash window.

this basic should really be part of the core build since it is a VERY basic

Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: herronja...@myway.com

Help Balloon Hides Menu Options

When you hover over a menu bar item and pause the help tip balloon(s)pops up
with a descriptor for the specific menu option. The help pop up blocks the menu
and/or sub-menu options so that they cannot be seen. This makes navigation
cumbersome if you are simply looking for a menu option and may be unsure under
which menu option the item you are looking for is. This help should (ideally)
be slightly offset so as not to overlay/hide menu items in the drop-down. e.g.
in Calc. Selecting 'Format' the help balloon pops up with a description of the
'Format' option and obscures the first four menu items below it with the help
text "The Format menu contains options for formatting..." etc and hides the
'Clear Direct Formatting','Cells','Row','Column' options. The position where
the help balloon appears appears to be mouse position sensitive i.e. with some
options you can make the help balloon appear to the right of the menu option by
careful (very careful) positioning of the mouse to the extreme right of a
sub-menu item. However, it is not possible with primary menus to truly position
the mouse and can be tricky with a sensitive mouse.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62175] FORMATTING: Style information lost after slide copy

2013-04-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62175

Dear Joel,

thanks for taking care of my bug report, since I believe this is a real nasty
one.

I am referring to a "Graphics Style", i.e. I create a box, define and assign a
custom graphics style, change some settings (e.g. colors). When I then copy the
entire slide, after closing and reopening the doc the box on the copied slide
has lost its custom graphic style information.

Furthermore: I am on the latest version (4.0.2.2) and the bug still exists.

Thanks for your great effort into this great product,

Markus

Using Ctrl+Backspace combination removes the word with the space between the
deleted word and the previous word.

2. Type at least two words
3. Go to end of the line
4. Use Ctrl+Backspace

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63818] New: FORMATTING: Crashing after unifying and centering

2013-04-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary: FORMATTING: Crashing after unifying and centering
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: mac_man2...@yahoo.it
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
I've been accidentally unifying all the cells of a certain row and then I wrote
something inside the resulting cell. Of course, when trying to center the words
inside the resulting cell, LibreOffice crashed. The reason is obvious:
impossible to calculate the exact center of an infinite width cell.

Steps to reproduce:
1. right click on a row number (left side of the screen)
2. select "unify" cells
3. write something inside the resulting cell and then align center it

Current behavior:
crash

Expected behavior:
not to crash. Maybe just centering the word beyond the limits of the current
view or beyond the limits of the last wrote cell on the right side.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63817] New: Base crashes quite frequently, often when re-opening an ODB, with a JRE error

2013-04-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63817

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63817
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Base crashes quite frequently, often when re-opening
an ODB, with a JRE error
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: t...@tim-passingham.co.uk
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.5.2 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 78348
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=78348&action=edit
JRE crash report

I have had this problem for many months, on several versions of Base, and of
JRE. I am no closer to determining exactly when it happens or why. The
summary of the fault is:

# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x7f5b371e16db, pid=7128, tid=140029768993024
#
# JRE version: 7.0_21-b11
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (23.21-b01 mixed mode linux-amd64
compressed oops)
# Problematic frame:
# C [libuno_cppu.so.3+0x2b6db] uno_type_sequence_reference2One+0x2ab
#
I have attached a sample crash report. Base quite frequently crashes when I am
using the Basic IDE. I have got used to that, and it doesn'r happen often when
using the ODB normally. However I also find that Base will not open my ODB,
even when nothing remiss appears to have happened. I often have to make 2, 3
or even 4 attempts to open my ODB before it succeeds with recovering, even
though I was unaware that there had been a problem.

I am aware this is too unspecific to be of much help, but am raising it in case
others are having similar problems not yet reported.

I am on Ubuntu 12.04, LO 3.6.5.2. My ODB currently links to MySQL using the
Native connector (it also crashes when I use JDBC). I can't move to LO 4
because of other faults (some events are not working).

I haven't had any JRE crashes with other software.

Rainer so he have final say on this.

Rainer - another extension bug, will you mark appropriately?

Version 3.6.6.2
Platform: Bodhi Linux 2.2 x64

@Domingo - a simpler test document would be nice if you are able to create one,
also in the future please provide reproducible steps, observed and expected
result like I did below, thanks!

To Reproduce:
1. Open Document with mergemail fields (from...)
2. Go to Tools -> Mail Merge Wizard...
3. Go through mail merge wizard, selecting "use this document"
*You may have to create a new table of contacts if one is not setup
4. Merge document

Observed: Bullets are all messed up, unusable document

Expected: Merge results in same document just with merged fields
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
As I've been able to confirm this problem on an earlier release I am changing
the version number as version is the earliest version that we can confirm the
bug, we use comments to say that the bug exists in newer versions as well.

Marking as:

New (confirmed)
Major - unusable document with data loss (actually data addition but still not
good)
High - default, seems appropriate as making a mail merge with bullet points is
common enough to warrant attention

Just allow us to protect ONLY what we want to protect, right from the menu.

Srs, estou tendo um problema com a impressão de documentos word(extensão doc).
Estou usando a versão 4.0.2.2 e quando imprimo ele não imprime os grides das
tabelas do documento, perdendo a formatação. Obs consigo visualizar o documento

aí ele funcionou normal, imprimindo corretamente.

Gostaria de continuar usando o soft com a sua versão mais recente, existe esta
possibilidade?

Very strange, I can open the document no problem in Linux.

I think there is enough info to mark this as NEW, for the crash, I suggest NOT
opening a new bug quite yet as it might be the true cause of this bug.

Because of the crash + inability to convert to HTML I am marking this as a
Major bug.

Joren - feel free to change if you disagree, additional info may be requested
by a developer in which case we'll further investigate.

Marking as:
New (confirmed)

Major - data loss, inability to use a feature (convert to HTML) + crasher on
some platforms (Windows, perhaps OSX as well)

High - default seems appropriate

I can confirm this. It looks like that saving XLSX file with LO, the option
Window - Freeze is incorrectly exported as Window - Split and thus when opening
such XLSX file it behaves strangely, because it is imported as Window - Split.

See also bug 63626 (points 2 and 3 in original bug report).

Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: d13...@post.ru

Created attachment 78340

Luna Element 5.1 Blue and LO Writer on a 1024x600 screen.

When some custom visual styles are used (for example, Luna Element or Royale
Vista), LibreOffice's menus and toolbars may become much taller than necessary,
taking lots of screen space.

This doesn't happen with other Windows software, so, I guess, the bug is
located in LO's UI.

Note: installing custom themes may require patching uxtheme.dll, which violates
MS' EULA. To avoid this, one can use software such as Styler (which allows to
use custom styles w/o patching the library).

2013-04-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62135

My apologies. This is my first bug report ever.

Computer info: I have tried this on Win 7 64 Pro, OS X 10.7.5 and Arch Linux
with latest updates using every LibreOffice release (not RC) in the 4.0 series.

Steps to reproduce problem:

1. Create a scatter plot, like in the attached ODS example file
2. Right click on the plot and select Export as graphic
3. Choose EPS format
4. Open EPS file with the latest Illustrator trial, Preview (OS X), evince,
zathura, etc.

Observed:

- All text looks pixelated, rasterized or whatever the right word is (see
attached "observed behavior" png file)

Expected

- Text should be vectorized, scalable, nice (see attached "expected behavior"
png file)

I have now attached PNG files in addition to the previous EPS file so that you
know what I see. Try zooming in in the EPS file and you will see what I mean.

Why not use SVG? As noted in other bug report it comes out blank.

Thanks for helping.

Tried with LO 3.6.2.2 in Ubuntu Quantal 12.10.

Exporting to PDF, the bug is reproducible.

Printing directly to the virtual cups-pdf printer provided by:

The bug is reproducible with exactly the same symptoms.

Is this a problem in Ghostscript or a general problem when printing rotated
boxes?

Can anyone test with actual printers through CUPS?

I don't like this concept of "assigned to", it doesn't work. Bugs just pile up
at a developer until s/he eventually will find some time to work on it, maybe
or maybe not, and others looking for bugs think when seeing "assigned" that
someone else is already working on it.

for step 2, what kind of style? When I push F11 and get into styles and
formatting text I see graphic style and Presentation stylesI assume you
mean presentation style, in which case, I am unable to create a "new" style
hereperhaps a new regression?

Can you test on 4.0.2.2 release - this is the latest release of LibreOffice

Marking as NEEDINFO, let me know if you're even able to create a new style, if
not, we have a regression (if you can confirm you can make a new style in
4.0.1.2 release) and that new regression would block this bug as I can't even
confirm it.

Once you confirm these points please mark as UNCONFIRMED and I will report a
new bug if it's needed

Last usable TB Windows build of master was 8 April.

I know TB 6 aren't debug symbol builds, but was hoping to pin down the start
point of the crash. So anyone with suggestions to help teasing out the aborting
dll and start of LO recovery?

Any need for additional Process Monitor .PML stack traces?

As you have confirmed the issue on an earlier release I am changing the version
number as version is the earliest version that we can confirm the bug, we use
comments to say that the bug exists in newer versions as well.

Marking as:

New (confirmed)

Normal - can prevent professional quality work

Low - the number of users affected by this one will be quite low, first off
using insert -> formula is already quite rare (the vast majority of users use
LibreOffice in a basic writing program), furthermore only an issue if you're
using multiple languages. If another bugs are marked as a duplicate this will
suggest others are also affected and may be a reason to up the priority.

I attached the output of export. However, in libreoffice i set
Tools-Options-Language Settings-Locale-Setting to English(US)

The User Interface i set to German or English (UK). That makes no difference.

If i set Locale Setting to German, it does not recognize 12.33 as number and
expects 12,33. Does LO really save the character (.) and not the logical
function (decimal seperator) ?

I'll second this! My problem is that there is no Oos version that runs stably
on my Windows XP Pro x64 computer. I've found that 3.6 is more stable than 4.0,
but I can crash either one by simply using the Format->Page function in Writer.
I'm not sure a 64-bit port would fix my problem, but I'd sure like to find out!

Marduk - can you provide explicit steps on how to accomplish what you want to
accomplish. Usually bug reports should be in the format:

Computer info (OS, LibreOffice version, etc...)

Steps to reproduce problem
1...
2...
3...

Observed:
the wrong behavior summarized

Expected:
What you expect to see

It's good to be consistent with this format so QA can quickly reproduce the
problem and triage it -- we're not all familiar with every feature that
LibreOffice has (even if we spend hours and hours triaging bugs :) )

Thanks!

[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.6.6.2 release " German UI/ German Locale
[Build-ID: f969faf] {pull date 2013-04-03} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

Steps how to reproduce:
0. Open new Calc document from LibO Start Center
1. Select all cells
2. Menu 'Format -> Cells -> Date -> 1999-12-31'
3. A1: 2012-10-31
4. Select A1:A20, menu 'Edit -> fill -> Series -> Down - Date-Month-Increment=1

Expected: All Cells show last day of month
   Actual: some months skipped

If I start a series with 2012-10-12 I expect to get a series always showing the
12th day of the next month in the next cell.
That always will work until Day number exceeds 28, what will give wrong results
in February, and if exceeds 30, wrong results for all other Months with less
than 31 days. It should be expected that if day number of cell before exceeds
number of days for next month, the cell should show the last day of the month.
But in case of mistake it seems that LibO simply adds 31 days instead of
calculating the appropriate day of month.

Already reproducible with Server Installation of "LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 English
UI/Locale [Build-ID: dc9775d-05ecbee-0851ad3-1586698-727bf66] on German WIN7
Home Premium (64bit)

Still worked fine with
* Server Installation (own profile) of "LibreOffice 3.4.5 RC1  - WIN7 Home
Premium (64bit) German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1 (Build:501)]", so Regression!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63802] libreoffice writer's surrounding text support (STS) for Input Methods is not working

2013-04-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Backspace fails to get executed on Libre Office for the bn-Disha IM. However,
it works fine on gedit. Suspected reason being Libre Office Writer's
surrounding text support (STS) is not working.

Packages:

* libreoffice-writer 4.0.0-1
* ibus 1.4.1-9
* ibus-m17n 1.3.4-1
* libm17n-0 1.6.4-1
* m17n-contrib 1.1.14-1

Steps to reproduce same issue on Fedora 18:-
0) Start Libre Office Writer
1) Activate IBus.
2) Select bn-disha IM.
3) Type any character sequence: such as 'k' followed by 'a'.
4) Type backspace.

Expected output: ক

Actual output: কা
