[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68407] Other: LibreOffice does not Start if only Component Draw is Installed

2013-09-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68407

Yesterday (September 10th 2013) I made a clean install of "LibreOffice Windows,
version 4.1.1, Swedish", deselecting all components but "Calc". (On a windows
7, with all security stuff turned on – not my own computer.)

The result was the same as described above. The mousepointer is "spinning" for
a couple of seconds, but nothing more happens.

Two additional notes:
1. This problem is not Writer specific. It is the same problem in Calc,
Impress, Draw... it looks like common feature.
2. I am not native English speaker, but in my humble opinion if there is
correct "in English text", then it is probably also correct "in French text" in
the first line. See attachment in_french_text.png

I reproduce the problem with the attachment with both LO 4.0.5 and LO 4.1.x. If
I modify the Y error bars to have positive and negative range separately and
save the modified file with LO 4.0.5, then it opens fine and the change is
preserved.
Looking at the Object 1/content.xml, one can see that data for error bars are
not stored in the same way. If I read correctly, there is 2 boolean values
chart:error-upper-indicator and chart:error-lower-indicator that are not in the
bugdoc.

Hi Markus, please, could you have a look? I am not sure, but this behavior
seems to be linked in some way to your improvements on error bars.

OK, well I'm just a user so some of this is over my head.

I can't include my spreadsheet because it is all full of confidential financial
data. I will try to explain it better.

I used to use Excel. (Is it OK to say that here?) I'd make a "Date" column,
A. As I went through my pile of receipts and invoices I would put the date in
A, the vendor in B, the amount in C, etc. If I needed to insert a row I would
highlight the row below where I wanted it and Insert Row from the context menu.
I think I have to have the mouse in the label column to the left of column A,
but I'm not sure. An empty row would appear above the one I had highlighted
and it would be pre-formatted the same as the highlighted row.

I tried that in LibreOffice calc and it did not appear that the new row was
formatted like the original row. If was also not formatted the same as the row
above the insertion, which had the same formatting as all of the rows.

It appears, from another message, that I would highlight row 3, insert a new
row, and that new row would inherit the formatting of row 2. That makes no
sense to me. Do I understand correctly?

Anyway, I clicked the "Send Feedback" selection in the Help menu and ended up
in this bug reporting system. I meant it to be "Feedback" or a suggestion for
future consideration. If it really is a bug, I'll glow with pride. Well, not
really, but I'll try to come up with better assistance. If it isn't a bug, I
hope I've given a point of view on how one person thinks it would make more
sense. It's possible that the other way makes sense to someone else, but I
sure don't see it.

I'm hitting the road in the morning and won't be back until Friday afternoon,
so I hope it isn't too annoying if I don't answer any further messages for a
few days. I'll be very busy...

Hello,

I am using an Intel Core i5 desktop PC, running Ubuntu 13:04.

The LibreOffice 4022 Writer screen constantly 'greys and freezes' and responds
very slowly and/or erratically when handling embedded graphic images.
Scrolling pages constantly cause the screen to freeze. A five page document,
with about 10 small graphic images, is almost impossible to edit.

I have had this problem with a previous version of LibreOffice and thought it
may have been an incorrect configuration setting but was unable to find a
solution so ended up using an alternative text editor. I have not been able to
find anyone else mentioning this problem, which seems to me a real frustrating
show stopper.

I hope you can help as I think this is a great product in all other respects.

Cheers, Larry

When a paragraph style is marked as hidden it is no longer used to create
bookmarks when exporting to a PDF file.

Create a blank document.
Create some text with a Heading 1 style
Export to a PDF file and it shows as a bookmark
Modify the style by enabling the Hidden option under the Font Effects tab
Now export as a PDF file and the heading is no longer used to create bookmarks

I think it should have the ability to create a bookmark for the heading even if
it isn't showing in the document.

confirmed in LibO 4.1.1.2 and recent 4.2 master (sept.3 build).
it is the same in any OOo, LibO and AOO release, so version is "inherited from
OOo"

basically the reporter propose to edit this string:
"Format ordinal numbers suffixes (1st -> 1^st)".

with this:
"Format ordinal numbers suffixes (1st -> 1^st) in English text".

I agree with that. with the actual string is not clear that that setting will
apply only to english languages and not to others.

since it's a localized option it should be indicated which locale it belongs
to.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69193] When typing cursor moves to another part of the page

2013-09-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69193

Good afternoon.
After creating a document in LibreOffice, as I am typing, my cursor moves to
another part of the page and inserts what I am typing there.
I am a very poor typist (I look at the keys), so when I look up, sometimes I
find I have typed a few words (or a few sentences) in a previous paragraph.
Then I must either delete and retype or copy and paste in the correct spot.
Thank you.

confirming in any LibO release from 3.3.0 to recent 4.2master (3 sept. build)
the same behaviour in AOO 4.0.0 as well, so "inherited from OOo".

here are all possible corner cases with quotation marks and slashes as they are
displayed by LibO:

“try”/”this”
“try”/”this”
“try”/”this
“try/”this”
try/”this”
try”/”this”
“try”/this”
 “/”this”
 “/this”

it seems that the quotation mark after the slash is always ending (”), no
matter which position it is --> /”

while quotation mark befor the slash is starting (“) it it has no letter before
it, and always ending (”) if preceded by a letter.

the problem is that advance time higher than 99,99 sec is not accepted in 4.1.x
releases.

in LibO 4.0.4 the limit was instead of 999 second.

interestingly the 4.0.4 doesn't accepts fractional values like 10,5 seconds
(which is then converted to 11) while the 4.1.x releases accept decimals as
well (you can set 10,54 sec if you like).

I suspect that the issue here is that 4.1.x doesn't accepts 5 digits number...
if you type 100 sec or any higher numbers it is interpreted as 100,00 and then
converted to the highest available 4 digits number which is 99,99.

so a possible fix would be to ged rid of the second decimal to allow times up
to 999,9 (which is still 4 digits) or allow 5 digits numbers (i.e. 999,00)

Hi ebricca, thanks for reporting.

Maybe the problem is that you not are using absolute references, using relative
references as you are doing, the formulas in the new sheet are modified for a
non existent sheet.
Use;
=$Sheet2.A1
and do the copy, if you want retain the reference to Sheet2.

If you are not used about absolute/relative references, look in the help index
for "absolute addresses in spreadsheets" or in the LibreOffice documentation
about calc chapter 7 page 13,

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68657

I created the boolean field in pgadmin3 and it doesn't give me the option to
enter any field length. No idea why it would turn up as length 5 in base.

If I create a "Yes/No (char)" field in Base, it comes out as character length 1
in pgadmin.

If I use the "Yes/No" field created in base for my form, I have the same
problems as before (value to long for field).

So creating a "real" boolean column in pgadmin seems to be the only working
solution.

I have created a boolean field with the direct connection. It has been shown in
ODBC-connection as text (fix) [char] Length 1. So it has been shown as your old
version in base. Why should a boolean filed have a length of 5? For "false" and
"true"?

So let's have a look at the difference between our systems. You aren't using
the same system as I. Where does the LO-version come from: Linux-repository or
directly from LO (which doesn't work here ...)?

Hey - thanks so much for fixing this - I've pushed another makefile cleanup;
with this I think we should git rm the data.xcd - we can now operate inside
unit tests on the real configuration for LibreOffice ...

So - we should port the individual tests to use real config paths that exist in
the configuration instead of trying to use the data.xcd paths that don't exist
:-)

We should prolly also add one or two of Noel's new-style configuration
accessors in there, just to exercise them a bit - in fact, Noel would be an
excellent mentor for the rest of this issue.

Thanks !

I think I created it in Base, but I am not sure, it might also have been
pgadmin. Its about 2 years since.

The two columns (old that doesn't work, new that does) show up as following:
pgadmin:
old: character length 1
new: boolean

base:
old: text (fix) [char] Length 1
new: text [varchar] length 5

and the value stored in the boolean column shows up as 0 and 1 in Base.

document with the scenario mencioned obove

Problem description:

paste, the the formatting inside the table also gets the list- formatting.
Second thing is that the following paragraph, if it is a chapter wit number
also gets the list-formatting
Please view the document which I added.
This problem is kown in the 3.x versions and also in the 4.0 versions.
I get the same behavour with Ubuntu and windows version.

Steps to reproduce:
1. make a tabe in the text.
2. copy it to the clipboard
3. make to new paragraphs.
4. the first mark as list
5. the second make as heading1.
6.in the menu extra-chapternumbring put tthe formatting for the heading1 that
it shows the number of the chapter.
7. put the curswor in the line with the list and insert the table of the
clipboard.

Current behavior:
the tableformatting has changed to list and the following paragraph is now a
list.

Expected behavior:
the table should be inserted as is, without changing the format, nither inside
the table or any other paragraph.
Adicional information:
Same happens when I have a Bulled-list and a numbered list in the following

I can confirm with Version: 4.1.2.1
Build ID: bf15ac65c2167fb1ef3daf3710609d4a4c369a9 Linux 64 version.
Any time you add a new theme, the objects in the previous ones are replaced by
the latest. I've created 3 new themes, at the end, they all have the same
pictures in it for the reasons Papamatti explains. For the moment, it's
impossible to add new themes in the Gallery. Sophie

I think there is one typical case of crash: after a period of unuse of a

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69181] New: EDITING: copy sheet command / ctrl+move_tab renames references

2013-09-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69181

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69181
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: copy sheet command / ctrl+move_tab renames
references
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: ebri...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

The context command on the sheet tab "Move/Copy Sheet ..."
makes the reference invalid (=#REF!.A1)
(example below)

or renames the "reference target sheet" to the one one of the "copy sheet"
(=Sheet1.A1 instead of =Sheet2.A1)
(happened to me to a range inside a VLOOKUP unable to reproduce)
or when pressing "ctrl" move_tab with mouse to copy (reproducable but doesn't
happen all the time)

noticed in 4.1.0.4 / Windows 7 x64

Steps to reproduce:
1. create Sheet1 and Sheet2 and fill Sheet2 with data (A1)
2. create a reference in Sheet1 ( =Sheet2.A1 )
3. use the "Move/Copy Sheet ..." command mentioned above
4. look in the copied Sheet at the reference

Current behavior:

The Reference gets replaced with =#REF!.A1

or even "=Sheet1.A1"

Expected behavior:

Should copy the sheet as is
not manipulate References the way it does now.

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: unspecified
