Current behavior: nothing happens, the cursor keeps it cross arrow shape. In the console, I see many warning messages like this: warn:vcl.opengl:24226:1:vcl/opengl/gdiimpl.cxx:1558: check where this call is coming from! NOT IMPLEMENTED YET! These messages do not appear if I do the same without OpenGL enabled for all rendering. Tested with master built at home under Ubuntu 14.10 x86-64. I uninstalled 4.4.0.3 and installed 4.3.6.2. The problem did not exist. I could view Impress presentations, including the first slide with no problems. Therefore, the bug seems to have been introduced in version 4.4.0.3. I then re-installed version 4.4.0.3 and the bug reappeared. I messed around with some of the settings and discovered that if I went to Tools-Options-LibreOffice-View and unchecked the Use hardware acceleration box then the bug disappears. All slides can be viewed as normal, including the first slide. Thus, it seems to be a problem, introduced in 4.4.0.3 with the hardware acceleration feature. Most of the time this is fine, however I have worked with some drawings which have many objects. If you use the selection rectangle you may end up selecting the objects you want to select as well as many that you don't want, requiring you to use the shift key to deselect many. Whilst this works, it is a bit cumbersome. My thought was that it would be good to be able to have something like a Selection Polygon where you could select numerous objects simply by drawing a few lines around them and closing the selection polygon. formatted .odt document--and open that .odt with LibreOffice. Any improvement?

LibreOffices filters parse the OOXML formula text into an OLE with LO Math
language strings:

The OOXML import filter conversion results in the same ODF OLE formulas back to
the 3.5 branch. OOXML formulas are not parsed for 3.4 or 3.3 builds so just the
text shows.
Changing the font to MS centric Cambria Math does not alter the outcome.
Interested to see how the MS Word 2013 OOXML export as ODF behaves.

If I type the text /tmp or \tmp (not including the quotes), calc treats this as straight text. If I then go into that cell, and edit the contents to become C:\tmp orC:\tmp, calc now decides that only the C:\ or C:/ is a link, and ignores the remaining text as far as the link target is concerned. I wrote C:\tmp into cell and whole C:\tmp is recognized as link. When I click on icon hyperlink I can see path: file:///C:/tmp text : C:\tmp so path correctly converted into hyperlink.
