Still reproducible with LibreOffice 5.0.0.0.alpha1.
Maybe I am wrong, but I guess the root cause of the problem is that the base
unit in the code would be the inch. If you set the tab size to 0,5 inch, then
change the unit to cm and mm, you will get consistent values. Idem if you
change to pica and pt.

   Product: LibreOffice

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: garet...@live.com

Hi, this is minor but annoying.
After indenting a paragraph section I then wish to dedent a new section.
On the Ruler Bar the default alignment has the upper triangle at 0.0, the lower
at 0.5. After indent the upper tri is at 0.75, the lower tri as at 1.25. After
dedent the upper tri is at -0.5, the lower tri is at 0.0.
I tried setting the tab stop length to 1.0 cm in Tools->Options-> Writer->
General, but it has no effect.

I have a feeling the problem is related to my style settings:
I like each paragraph to begin at 0.0 with each subsequent line indented 0.5
cm.
In Paragraph Style -> Indents & Spacing the Indents settings are:
Before Text: 0.5 cm
After text 0.0 cm
First Line: -0.5 cm

Could you just make the dedent stop at 0? Adding tabs doesn't help: they just
move with the indent/dedent.

Then I created an new index in the new document. The result was the same:

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: moha...@gmail.com

When converting a six-page spreadsheet to PDF, only the middle three pages get
converted! I do simple accounting for a small office, but this bug has me
pissed off, since the PDF converter at Libre Office seems to be the only
working converter I can find.

Also, after I've made the conversion, the resultant pages in PDF are all in
"portrait mode,' and not the presumably easier to follow "landscape" mode. I've
searched for a solution to this problem, but I come up empty-handed. None of
the properties listed in the PDF converter have any way of changing the default
"portrait" to a default "landscape."

When I checked the photo properties tab, I don't see anything at all!

So I hope these mysteries can be examined and resolved. I'm trying to send the
info to others, none of whom use Libre Office.

thanks!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91049] Please make the user interface look more modern like the Libre Office website interface

2015-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91049

Sorry, what I mean is that the interface is very different from Microsoft
Office and that may seem intimidating because you no longer know how to use it.
I don't mean directly competing against Microsoft Office but I'm saying that it
may lessen potential users coming from other office programs because they may
use the others just because it's simpler. Again, apologies if this is basically
the same thing, please ignore this part if it is.

Also, I'm not sure if others think this too but I'm making a guess that may be
why others like "modern" UIs so much. My theory is that a simple UI, icons,
layout, etc will make the application seem more simple rather than complicated
icons, layouts, etc which may remind people of "old" programs and their
assumptions are that it will be difficult to use.

A quick way to reproduce this bug is in Writer
1. Create a blank file
2. "save as" DOCX
3. Open in Word 2013

Verified this is caused by:

@Raal - can you provide clear instructions on how you were able to do this in
3.5? I just tried and I couldn't but I don't see explicit instructions on how
to accomplish this.

What I tried was:

1. Selecting the corner and dragging it to make it larger (broken all the way
back to 3.3 so inherited from OOo)
2. Right click -> Object -> the size stuff is all greyed out.

Assistance appreciated.

See wwSectionManager::InsertSegments() for the related binary import

On OS X (Yosemite) when you expand the window with the green button to see it
in full sreen (not the full screen mode of LO), you have a white space all over

I know how to open function wizard but don't get this tooltip. Right clicking
on a function doesn't make any tooltip appear in a rectangle for me.

Sorry, I can't help here, certainly someone else would know how to reproduce
this.

Hi Nikos, thanks for reporting.

First ( can't see in your file the testrange name defined.

After define the range name, issue is reproducible after deleting "First_2"
sheet VLOOKUP calculation is in error no matter using F9 or Ctrl+Shift+F9 to
recalculate.

Saving and reopening the file, formulas looks ok.
Editing with F2 a formula adding a space plus intro, shows it correct again.

For the test, could you give a try to LO 4.4.2?
(please rename your LO directory profile, see

Obviously, the goal is to know if it can be reproduce with last LO version and

Not a valid request - "it's annoying" is not really a valid anything. We don't
push core functionality to extensions (nor is the bug tracker the place to talk
about extensions as extensions are developed by 3rd party developers working
outside of the scope of the project (kind of...it's complicated

If the result is removing LibreOffice for you, then sorry to see you go and I
hope you're able to find software that better suits your need.

Marking as WONTFIX. Please don't reopen it.

Hi Joel.

This problem is new for me.
When I worked with LibreOffice 4.4 never occurred to me, but when I upgraded to
5.0 alpha for testing, I started experimented this problem.

I also tried in Windows 7, don't know if it makes a difference on the tests.

Regards,

Juan Pablo.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91084] New: LibreOfficeHelp stops working after update (I10n ?)

2015-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 91084
Summary: LibreOfficeHelp stops working after update (I10n ?)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rainer.kalus...@web.de

LibreOFfice showed no help text in the right half of the help window though the
help index was displayed (German version, OpenSuSE). However, setting LANG to
POSIX didn't change a thing.

Following a hint form one of the Openoffice mailing lists, I deleted
/usr/lib64/libreoffice/help and replaced it with a symbolic link to
/usr/share/libreoffice/help. That solved the issue for the moment.

However, the update from libreoffice-4.4.2.2-283.1.x86_64 to
libreoffice-4.4.2.2-285.1.x86_64 re-introduced the problem :-(

Do not select all cells, which is the cause for the slow performance here.
Select only the range to be sorted, or just place the cell cursor in such range
and Calc will select the range for you.

Actually this is not a duplicate of bug 90757, but a fix is available only as
of 4.3.something and later.

I was the author of this bug report. Same behaviour as before, but earlier
discussion concluded that this isn't a bug: it was never possible.

I have moved 'Recent Documents' to the top of my File menu, and that is a good
enough solution for me.

There was a suggestion that 'Recent Documents', whichis available under Tools >
Customise > Keyboard > Application be removed from the offerings for shortcut
keys, but that has not been done. It would be useful to remove it if that isn't
difficult, and there wouldn't be side effects.

The bug ist still in LO4.4.3.2.
Tested in Windows 7 and only if the window is horizontally or vertically
resized.
The window will be refreshed when the window size is changed diagonally ONLY.

Think there is a wrong AND or/and OR condition. ;-) Should be easy to fix.

Could be that I'm wrong, but windows apps have to refresh their window content
themselves, in linux the toolkits are doing it for you - that's why it happens
windows-only.

This makes no sense, ScDocShell::AdjustRowHeight() is not even executed from
ScDBDocFunc::Sort() in this constellation because the previous call to
ScDocument::HasUniformRowHeight() in ScDBDocFunc::Sort() determined all heights
are uniform in the range (bUniformRowHeight=true).

However, I know what could go wrong if it actually was executed.. and indeed,
when resizing one row (e.g. 3) before the sort I can reproduce.

Still the same in 4.1.6.2. The entire SQL statement gets reformatted without
any line breaks or extra spaces.

I never bother with the query design view but always enter SQL code directly,.
Since my queries frequently these tend to be somewhat complex, I format them
with line breaks and indentation to make them more legible at least while I
create them.

Therefore I'd strongly favor storing the SQL source as plain text, with all
formatting preserved, rather than in some abstraction format, when the last
edit to the query was in SQL mode.

Anyone who codes is used to that behavior from their IDE or editor of choice,
and I'd like to see the same in LO.

I think it comes from the formula::RefEdit. There is also a corresponding
button that works together with the Edit.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91083] New: Emulate non-splitting tables with .DOC is broken

2015-05-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91083

Bug ID: 91083
Summary: Emulate non-splitting tables with .DOC is broken
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.0 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jl...@mail.com

Code to mimic LibreOffice's ability to have a table "keep with next" was
introduced in Jun 2007. On 19-Nov-2008 it was broken by this major reworking:
CWS-TOOLING: integrate CWS hb11

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=f4e5153daa7859cc5a5aec44ee578bf81195ca93

The code is still all there, but is just deactivated by an abandoned variable
(bOutTable in wrtw8nds.cxx). Replacing this with IsInTable() may be
appropriate.

A more accurate description of the problem is that Select All does not select
an object if it is anchored to the first or last paragraph or to the page.

1. New Text Document.
2. Insert -> Shapes -> Rectangle and draw one.
3. Select All (Ctrl + a) and Cut (Ctrl + x).
Result:
Object does not get selected or cut.
4. Enter some empty paragraphs.
5. Place cursor on last paragraph.
6. Select All (Ctrl + a) and Cut (Ctrl + x).
Result:
Object does not get selected or cut.
7. Undo Cut.
8. Select object and move anchor to another paragraph (not the end).
9. Place cursor on first paragraph.
10. Select All (Ctrl + a) and Cut (Ctrl + x).
Result:
Object gets selected and cut.
11. Undo Cut.
12. Place cursor on last paragraph.
13. Select All (Ctrl + a) and Cut (Ctrl + x).
Result:
Object gets selected and cut.
14. Undo Cut.
15. Select object and move anchor to the last paragraph.
16. Place cursor on first paragraph.
17. Select All (Ctrl + a) and Cut (Ctrl + x).
Result:
Object does not get selected or cut.
18. Undo Cut.
19. Place cursor on last paragraph.
20. Select All (Ctrl + a) and Cut (Ctrl + x).
Result:
Object does not get selected or cut.

Is this a new problem for you or was it also present in LibreOffice 4.4? If so
- please update the version to 4.4 as version should be the oldest version that
the bug is confirmed on.

You are correct, this is the same behaviour as MS Word 2003. And that
basically also answers the question as to whether this is correct behaviour.
We need to mimic MSOffice for document compatibility, so this is not a bug.

The issue appears only if the quickstarter is not present and turned off and

it's not loaded (unticked in memory settings) then the error appears.

Added 2 attachments of tests with older version 3.3.0 and 3.6.7.1 both of them
open file without any error dialog box , however they threat the file as a
native text file.
The RTF format is not being recognized.

Since LO Version 4.4.0.0 , general i/o error dialog box is being displayed.

RTF format needs to be recognized, so file can be opened correctly.
Additional info: Office 2003 can open it correctly with graphics displayed.
Wordpad opens the file without graphic displayed.
