[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133334] New: [FILESAVE] Saving as .docx generates spurious page breaks
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14 Bug ID: 14 Summary: [FILESAVE] Saving as .docx generates spurious page breaks Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: luke.kend...@gmail.com Created attachment 161212 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=161212=edit Zip file with two short sample documents Saving a document as .docx causes and extra spurious page break to be inserted on or soon after the 1st page following manual page breaks. By examining the XML produced, I found spurious ... XML that causes the additional page breaks to be inserted. Examining the XML of the source .odt, I was unable to see anything that might lead to an extra page break. The first spurious page break is after the text "letting any other speak who wished to." in the Prologue. The second spurious page break is after the text "Calmly, he returned to studying the orphanage records." The .docx conversion also changes the layout by causing page spills in places they weren't before, but I consider that a minor nuisance. Please see the attached source document WTKDP-BadDocxGen.odt and the bad .docx file generated by Save As from: Version: 6.4.3.2 Build ID: 747b5d0ebf89f41c860ec2a39efd7cb15b54f2d8 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: x11; Locale: en-GB (en_AU.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118776 --- Comment #9 from Aron Budea --- I have no idea how to create this kind of XML content in PP, but it seems that if the tag is inside an (outline properties), then it's applied to the text fill, which shouldn't happen. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89829 --- Comment #5 from QA Administrators --- Dear mahfiaz, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133330] New: FILESAVE
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10 Bug ID: 10 Summary: FILESAVE Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: slumber...@gmail.com I've been using LibreOffice Draw since its first releases and there is one bug that continually annoys me and which seemingly never gets fixed--freezes during file saving. It affects almost every version of LibreOffice Draw, including 6.4.4.2 which I am currently using. I am using Xubuntu 20.04 LTS but it has also affected every other LTS version I have used. - It is not a "feature" as so many people here try to offer. - Starting with a new profile does not fix the problem. - Using the "official" Ubuntu repo version does not fix the problem. - Using the latest "Snap" version does not fix the version. - Using the latest LibreOffice deb release does not fix the problem. - It can affect any document, whether simple or complex. The problem is that sometimes LibreOffice completely freezes. It can take 2-5 minutes for the save to complete and the application to continue working again. Sometimes it can completely freeze the operating system requiring a cold restart (and losing the changes in the document i.e. the save was not successful). The behaviour is somewhat random. You can save a document and it completes the task instantly. Then you can change a word in a sentence and it saves properly again. Change another word and try to save and it freezes. It is like some sort of race condition where the save operation cannot be completed. A search on Google will show the same bug affects the other applications in the suite. I don't want people to tell me to do the same things we have all tried. I don't want to be flamed by LO fanboys either. LibreOffice Draw is an awesome application and I use it everyday for work and fun. But this is a serious bug and it is so annoying that I consider giving up and returning to Scribus or setting up a virtual windows environment just to go back to Microsoft Publisher. It's a long standing bug that needs sorting out. How many new releases do you do every month? You obviously have the resources. It is just a conscious decision on your part to ignore bugs reported by the users and concentrate on other things. Modified shared code: Added "background" to the cell styles export. To make cell export properties map accessible by both export and import code, moved from xmloff/source/table/XMLTableExport.cxx to xmloff/txtprmap.hxx. To avoid export of default valued properties implemented XPropertyState for SwXTextCellStyle https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=40fba0f4418084d50cc5c388cb0b6e1abe395d61 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

My big .odt file about 100 MB containing index, images, links, ..., currently 1450 pages is updated, saved and exported to .pdf periodically. With LibreOffice 6.3.6 this file is exported to .pdf in about 5 minutes (acceptable time for my old computer). But if I completely remove LibreOffice 6.3.6 and install and use Libreoffice 6.4.x (but also with version 7.0 alpha1) when I export this file in .pdf it takes two hours and I think this time is really too big (crazy). I remove the old version of LibreOffice through these four steps: - first (from terminal) $ sudo apt-get --purge remove libreoffice *.* this cleans up more than 600 MB of disk space - second (from terminal) $ sudo apt autoremove this cleans up any other files that are no longer in use on the system - third (from "caja" file manager) in the hidden folder /home/user/.config remove the libreoffice folder - fourth (from "caja" file manager) open the /opt folder as administrator and remove the libreoffice folder. New libreoffice is downloaded with torrent from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/: - libreoffice (linux 64bit deb) - translated user interface (italian) - help for offline use (italian) The three packages are then unpacked. Installation is done from terminal (#) using the command dpkg -i *.deb Unfortunately I cannot attach my 100 MB file. I attach .odt file containing this description. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
