I did test this. At best there is a slight delay when closing the dialog (about
300 ms or so on my 5 year old i5 processor).

The main problem here is the fact you are using worksheet names wrong. Such
usage makes nothing easier nor quicker (generating names for every cell in
table, 709 named cells in total).

Such a problem should be easily solved with correct usage of VLOOKUP and needs
no macros at all.

Can you test with 5.0.2.2 or later with a fresh profile
(https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and report back. No one is
seeing this issue so just want confirmation it exists for you with a fresh

There is, at least for bad sorting of named ranges, here:

I can't really help with slowness, but sure the sorting fix can be backported
to 4.4

wrt. jumbled up named ranges in UI: Is this regression compared to previous
version you had (4.2.8)? 

If so, we might need to backport one fix to 4.4

Yes I would say this is regression. It has gone from listing the names as
follows in 4.2.8:

a,a,a,a,b,b,b,b,c,c,c,c,d,d,d,d

To this in 4.4:

a,a,b,b,c,c,d,d,d,d,c,c,b,b,a,a

I updated to 4.4.4.3 and still have the same problem with it freezing, the
Managed Names are also jumbled up in this new version but they weren't in the
older version. I also tried this on Windows 8, with version 4.4.4.3 and I still
get the freezing.

Hello,
I don't see problem (freeze) when deleting names in windows, version 4.4.4.
Please, could you test if you see the same problem in actual version? Version
4.2.8 is quite old. You can download newest version at
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/
