Duplicate Bug!
Please find the proposed solution here:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60268#c20

You have to delete the original font file (Windows\fonts\opens__.ttf) first and
then install the modificated one (right click on the file
OpenSymbol_V1.7_new2.ttf - install).

Hi all,

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm using Version: 4.3.2.2 under Windows 8.1.

Just two samples:

int x_i

{x_i} underbrace {this is it}

Particularly the second one is completely unreadable under Libreoffice,
although it looks perfect when exported to PDF or the file is saved and the
opened on a Linux box.

Thanks o-weh1,

But your screenshot come from LO 4.2 and you experiment an other bug, already
fixed. You can change this behavior by:
Tools Options LibreOffice Writer Formatting Aids:
In Layout assistance, uncheck Math baseline alignment. This will allow to work
correctly.
You can also wait the next version (coming soon, two or three days), where this
issue is fixed.
I importune you no longer. I hope somebody will help you to find a good version
to work.

Kind regards,

Jacques

An easier way to show the problem, perhaps.
In Writer, copy the next formula:
f(t)=int from size*1.5 0 to 1 left[g(t')+sum from i=1 to N h_i(t')right]
and send us a view of what is displayed.

Kind regards,

Jacques

--- Comment #6 from Jacques Guilleron guillero...@aol.com ---
I don't reproduce using LO 4.1.3.2 or LO 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Windows 7 Home
Premium.
It is a Windows 8 issue.
Your attachment show you are using Calibri font for operators.
So using lim, liminf, limsup, sum, prod, coprod, int, iint, iiint, lint, llint,
lllint, should raise this problem.

Can you verify, in the formula editor, in Format Fonts, if you display :

Variables : Times New Roman, italic
 Functions : Times New Roman
 Numbers : Times New Roman
 Text : Times New Roman

 Serif : Times New Roman
 Sans : Arial
 Fixed : Courier New

Can you also tell which default font is used, when you open a new document? Is
it Times New Roman or Calibri?

Thank you very much for your answer,

Jacques

 NoRepro:4.2.0.1:OSX

Assuming this is windows only, since not reproducible on Linux nor OSX.

Is this bug still valid / reproducible with the latest pre-release 4.2.0.1:
 http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

Should this be still reproducible for you with the latest LO release please
set this bug back to UNCONFIRMED. Should this issue be solved set it to
 WORKSFORME.

Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided.

Still doesn't work. Behaviour stays exactly the same.
