What if you uninstall the old version first? Does the uninstaller give the same

Can you try renaming the installer to the expected file name?
Alternatively, try reinstalling LibreOffice 4.3.7 from the installer, and then
updating to the new version.

V Stuart Foote's recommendation did not work. I received another gripe:
it stated that "the LibreOffice_4.3.7.2_Win_x86.msi is not a valid installation
package for the product LibreOffice 4.3.7.2. Try to find the installation
package 'LibreOffice_4.3.7_Win_xx86.msi' in a folder from which you can install
LibreOffice 4.3.7.2."

Should let you clear things with the Microsoft Installer.
