[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 130693] PRINTING: font or style selectively changed from Writer in PDF printout
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130693 --- Comment #11 from Buovjaga --- (In reply to Nick Levinson from comment #10) > That's comparing apples to oranges. I still don't know why the previews in > your system via Okular and in my laptop, including in Writer for ODT and > Okular for PDF and, for PDF, on Canon and Xerox are all correct while the > paper output from Canon and Xerox are wrong. It's comparing apples to apples. Intercepting the spool file gives you the exact thing that would be printed. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133276] Wrong characters formatting (kerning) after odt file opened in LO 6.4.3.2 Writer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133276 --- Comment #14 from Piotr --- Here is another hint, and the bug, actually: this "new" rendering, since 5.3 is somehow badly calibrated. Proof: take the example .odt file here, mark all the line "Prices..." > Character > Position > set Kerning to -0.1 pt (the lowest possible). The whole line shrinks around 17%. From a DTP point of view this is absolutely a disaster, if 0.1 pt kerning affects the line that much. Never seen something like this, and I worked on Ventura, PageMaker, Word Perfect and mostly, on OO and LO Writer. My guess is, these are the programmers who are working on LO, glory to them, but the software is used by people like me, from DTP. And the programmers naturally cannot know how DTP should work. So this is the whole thing with rendering too much or whatever, I am not a programmer. :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133591 --- Comment #2 from sebastien.kr...@wanadoo.fr --- I tried to reproduce: 1. open Writer 2. enter "abc" without (the "), no line feed 3. Save As -> Text (.txt) 4. open with an hex editor. The file holds 7 bytes: EF BB BF 61 62 63 0A These 3 first bytes are a UTF8 BOM (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte_order_mark ). @fg: could you check your file if it is the same ? Maybe your text editor just misunderstands this. The question is: should these be there or not. I think this is a design decision, some editors offer the choice to save txt file with or without BOM (Notepad++ on Windows has this). Should LO have this ? I don't know. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133605] New: Incorrect rendering numbering in Word defined multi-level list
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133605 Bug ID: 133605 Summary: Incorrect rendering numbering in Word defined multi-level list Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: m...@marcocaspers.com Created attachment 161528 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=161528=edit bug_example_doc Hi there, I have .docx document that uses a particular numbering, that is attached to predefined styles. I've attached this document. As you can see, I use headings at four different levels (1 to 4). They make use of a multi-level list. In this case, the first level omits a number (a deliberate choice by us, and designed like that in Word), but it is used to 'reset' the numbering for level 2. In Word, this completely works as expected. The result is this [screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/Ryu1EDW). However, when opening in LibreOffice (tried versions between 6.2.8 and newest beta (7.0.0.0beta1), it force the first level to use numbering as well. So the first heading is "1Heading level 1" and the other heading levels use this number in their numbering as well, so level 2 is showing "1.1" instead of "1". Is there something that can be done to fix this? Looking forward to your reply!
