It looks like this method still requires using the mouse when typing. The area
to which you want to apply formatting must be selected with the mouse. It also
looks like this method requires you to select the text with the desired
formatting each time before applying it to other text.

It seems more convenient to add an option, for example, “Paste formatting only”
in the menu that appears when pressed ctrl+shift+v. This will allow users to
repeatedly apply the copied style to text without using the mouse.

Indeed, Avast / AVG started to block newer LibreOffice releases recently:

https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/when-trying-to-open-some-files-i-get-error-access-denied-or-this-file-has-been-locked-by-another-user/97072/
https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/unable-to-open-7-4-docs-with-7-6-version-loaded/96917

https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/can-no-longer-use-desktop-shortcuts-for-individual-files/96980

This is not a bug in LibreOffice, and we can do nothing about their behavior.
The only thing you can try is finding the correct procedure to add Program
Files\LibreOffice\program\soffice.bin into the antivirus' exception list (there
is a similar procedure for Windows Defender's folder access control, explained
in the FAQ [1]).

And of course, filing bugs/issues/support tickets against Avast is the correct
way of resolving this, finally.

Closing NOTOURBUG.

Reproduced in OOo 3.3 as well as a recent trunk build:

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: b83f069101f1e6d8aaac09a805f02bbc4c619e7a

Importantly, note that doing the same on page in Writer has the same result:
the character formatting does not influence the bullet when the list is toggled
_after_ applying it. So if the behaviour is changed in Impress, I'd say it
needs to be consistent and changed in Writer too.

I think something that should be more prioritised is this:
Changing the character colour _after_ toggling the list does not change the
bullet/number colour in Impress, but it does in Writer.

Design/UX team, what do you think should be the consistent behaviour across
apps?

(And I assume support for paragraph styles in Impress would help as a
workaround: Bug 152653)

Filter starts at E4 and the row/value example assumes E1, which makes the first
occurrence of 0 in (E)9.

Given we want to show the total number of results (bug 149984) there is not
much room for other information. I also doubt it's enough to just know where a
particular value comes first, you probably want to modify it (eg. jump to the
error in order to fix it). It sounds as if you reinvent a (quick)find
functionality. Anyway, up for more opinions (mine if WF).

There are probably situations where users want the list to remain in black and
there is (maybe more often) the expectation to follow the font color (and other
attributes). Writer does as requested as well as MS PP, so I think we should
follow the suggestion.

Lock down extension for the Personalization page

When the settings of the Options dialog page Personalization are locked down,
several of the UI elements do not reflect this by becoming disabled and
displaying a lock icon on their left.

1. Install the attached extension in the Tools - Extensions dialog
2. Restart LibreOffice
3. Go to Tools - Options - Personalization
-> the UI elements have no lock icon on their left, they are not disabled,
changing their status and pressing OK usually crashes LibreOffice

My take. Wouldn't cripple one function, or enhance the other with potentially
much effort.

Lock down extension for the OpenCL page, enabling and locking the feature

This is related to the bug 157843

There the example configuration extension locks down the OpenCL feature as
disabled - this works.

However if the OpenCL feature is locked down as enabled, this leads a startup
crash of LO.

1. Install the attached extension in the Tools - Extensions dialog
2. Restart LibreOffice
-> crash after start, with

terminate called after throwing an instance of
'com::sun::star::lang::IllegalArgumentException'

on the console.

Heiko, note that I'm asking for the ability to select "regularly", i.e. with a
single-click on some part of the comment bubble, and shift+click and ctrl+click
working as one would expect. Are you sure this is all obvious and you don't
want to discuss which regions exactly would be considered a selection? Or
whether the selection should behave similarly to table cell selection, where a
click doesn't select but you have to wrestle with it a bit?

When the settings of the Options dialog page Accessibility are locked down,
several of the UI elements do not reflect this by becoming disabled and
displaying a lock icon on their left.

1. Install the attached extension in the Tools - Extensions dialog

3. Go to Tools - Options - Accessibility

But in this version of LibreOffice, when you put your cursor at the beginning
of one text without style and without selection of text, and then you select a
style in the sidebar, it changes a big part of the text with style.

However, the expected result is that you select the style and then write your
text with the format of the selected style.

There is also a problem with the menu style; it doesn't keep the cursor on the
text and loses it.

 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mettav...@gmail.com

Description:
I've activated the automatic correction. Spelling mistakes are now clearly
underlined. If I increase the font size, beyond a certain size the underlining
disappears.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create a new Writer document
2.write a text containing errors
3.increase font size

Actual Results:
At step 2 if the font is small, errors are underlined. At step 3, if the font
is larger than a certain size (which varies according to the font chosen), the
errors are no longer underlined.

Expected Results:
Errors must be underlined, regardless of the font size used.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Error reproduced on several different Macs.

I suspect that there is embedded javascript in the fully working pdf.

Open the document and try to write something in first and second control.

Download the attached XML form document.
Write some text in the first and in the second form control.
No problem with the second control but the first won't accept the content.
Tip-Help says: "This is an invalid binding expression."

First field is named as "cbc:ID".
Second field is named as "Identifier".

All other properties will be the same.
Binding will be created automatically, but every time I open the document or
input data there will be added another element "cbc:ID" to the list of Instance
1.

Fields like this with ":" are evident for creating electronic invoices like
XRechnung in Germany.

Copying my comment from duplicate bug 157605:

Same in OOo 3.3, so inherited.
Reproduced in recent trunk build:

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: b83f069101f1e6d8aaac09a805f02bbc4c619e7a
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Table copied from OnlyOffice gives the OP's expected results:

1 Line 1
2 Line 2

(and uses tabs to separate columns, as it should)

This is the same as copy-pasting from Calc:

1 Line 1
2 Line 2

So, to me, it's sensible to make Writer tables behave the same as Calc when
copy-pasted.

Hossein, could this qualify as an easy hack? Merged cells should be tested too.

No problem to create a TOC here with OpenSUSE 15.4 64bit rpm Linux and LO
7.6.2.1
Have written some text.
Created a style "Heading 1"
Created a style "Heading 2"

Then I started Insert → Table of Contents. Styles are the right styles, so TOC
will be created.

Upload an example where it doesn't work for you.

(In reply to Mike Sapsard from comment #2)

The ODT in your file does not do any arithmetics. So are you asking for
"translate to PDF what is already working in ODT", or are you asking for
something else?
