[Libreoffice-qa] [ANN] LibreOffice 4.2.0 RC2 test builds available

2014-01-08 Thread Christian Lohmaier
Hi *,

for the upcoming new version 4.2.0, the builds for rc2 are now
available on pre-releases (windows helppacks still uploading)

Besides the usual builds, there are also 64bit builds for Mac
available for testing.

Reminder: Starting with 4.2.0rc1, developers (and people doing some
"low-level" QA) on windows can make use of the symbol server to get
pdb files for debugging the release builds. The symbol server's URL is

http://dev-downloads.libreoffice.org/symstore/symbols

and starting with 4.2.0rc2 the symbol files are also source-indexed¹.
This means the debugger can now download and display the sourcecode
that corresponds to the build².

see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg
on how to make use of it

See

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.2#4.2.0_release

for the complete schedule.

Grab the builds from here here:

 http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

The builds include the full set of languages.

If you've a bit of time, please give them a try & report any severe
bugs not yet in bugzilla here, so we can incorporate them into the
release notes. Please note that it takes approximately 24 hours to
populate the mirrors, so that's about the time we have to collect
feedback.

The list of fixed bugs relative to 4.2.0 RC1 is here:

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/src/bugs-libreoffice-4-2-0-release-4.2.0.2.log

So playing with the areas touched there also greatly appreciated -
and validation that those bugs are really fixed.

Thanks a lot for your help,
Christian

Hi *,

the install-packages of LO 4.2.0rc2 64bit rpm are all linked to the
packages of 4.2.0rc1. So I have to chose for every package to ignore
this dependency.

The Windows builds show as built and posted today, but they are named as
LibreOffice_4.2.0.1.0_Win_x86.msi

So, mislabeled? Or not yet built/posted for 4.2.0.2 RC2?

Seems like I messed up and didn't switch to the tag. Argh. So I'll
remove the windows build and restart the build. Sorry for that and
thanks for noticing.

The Windows build do *not* reflect the 4.2.0.2 tag.

Hi *,

due to the dependency problems on the linux build and the wrong
version on Windows, the builds for Windows and Linux have been
replaced and are now available for download from

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

(Mac builds are unchanged)

Sorry for any inconvenience this did cause.

2014-01-10 Thread V Stuart Foote
Christian,

Something has gone very wrong with the Windows build. Activating the
IAccessible2 UAA bridge results in no ability to edit a document as an
key press will crash the edit session and close LO.

TB 42 builds seem unaffected.

Opened BZ bug 73464

:-(

It seems that something else went wrong: the list of option categories
for Calc (Tools > Options > LibreOffice Calc) is not translated when the
langpack French is installed. I do not have this problem when I do a
release build for the branch 4.2 (currently 4.2.1.0+)

Best regards.

When Cloph will announce it, he will make the changes to the page too I
guess.
There is two announcement, one on this list to check for the
installation of the package, another one some days later for the
availability of the release. We are at the first one, if I'm right :)
