Quoted music and midi
Consider the following snippet:

The printed output is fine:
,
but although it makes a midi file with two channels, there don't seem to be any
notes in midi channel 2:

I wouldn’t consider that a problem... if I quote the violin part in a trumpet part, I wouldn’t expect to hear the brass honking away in the MIDI rendition.
