And here's my first stab at cx18 component video:

http://linuxtv.org/hg/~awalls/cx18-pvr2100-component

for both the Leadtek PVR2100 and DVR3100 H. It was a little easier than
I had thought.

Anyone with one of those boards with the component video hookup, please
give it a test.

Andy

The cx23885 driver doesn't work with tvtime, due to bugs in the v4l
controls in the driver. Michael Krufky has some patches but they need
some more work before they can go in the mainline. Even if they were
committed though, there is currently no support for raw audio, so
tvtime would not be a good application to use for this device.

Solved this part, the oops was caused by the missing sysfs NULL,
already reported at http://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/70126/

Now the driver loads, and I follow it up with "modprobe tuner".
Unfortunately, no luck yet using tvtime, it just reports:
videoinput: No inputs available on video4linux2 device '/dev/video0'.
But I suspect that is a different issue!

[PATCH] ov534: allow enumerating supported framerates

2010-01-08 Thread Antonio Ospite
Signed-off-by: Antonio Ospite

Historical note:

This has been re-tested on a reliable machine and it works from guvcview for
all the framerates; on my old PC I am still having problems with 640x...@60fps
_regardless_ of this change, so it must be a USB problem.

Thanks,

Re: go7007 driver -- which program you use for capture

2010-01-08 Thread TJ
jelle, that you?

Here's the patch against go7007 driver in 2.6.32 kernel (run with -p1).

The main purpose of the patch is to include support for ADS Tech DVD Xpress DX2
usb capture card and make it usable with v4l2-ctl utility.

I also did a general clean-up in a few areas and *temporarily* added back in
proprietary go7007 ioctls, so current mythtv users can take advantage of it and
to make the gorecord program from wis-go7007 package now work again.

Also attached is a stripped down version of gorecord from which I removed all
parameter-setting stuff. This version is meant to be used in conjunction with
v4l2-ctl or other means of configuring capture parameters.

I will try to do mythtv patches next so that it starts using standard v4l2 ioctl
calls and we can drop all proprietary stuff in the driver.

Please try it and lemme know if it works for you. I've run into a few Ubuntuers
as well who were trying to get their boards working as well.

Never actually used one myself, but MythTV has support for at least

cx23885 oops during loading, WinTV-HVR-1850 card

2010-01-08 Thread Ralph Siemsen
I picked up an HVR-1800 but the box contained an 1850. Encouraged by
other reports of success on this list, I plunged ahead and tried it.
However, the driver oopses during loading, and oddly, after that point
my terminal loses job control (can't ^C or ^Z anymore... weird.)

System is running Fedora 12 with kernel 2.6.31.9-174.fc12.i686.PAE.
Stock driver in fedora works, but does not reckognize the 1850.
Motherboard is an Intel DG45FC with a Core 2 Duo.

So I compiled v4l-dvb from HG against the fedora headers and loaded the
new modules, that's when the opps happens. Details below.

I tried replacing only the cx23885.ko driver, as well as installing all
of the v4l-dvb drivers -- behaviour seemed to be the same. With all
drivers installed, system bootup does not complete, udev hangs, but I
see the same kernel oops from cx23885.

Question: should I be trying this against vanilla kernel? Or should I
try investigating the oops to see if I can figure out what's wrong?
Any other debug/diagnostics I can provide?

Thanks!
-Ralph

go7007 driver -- which program you use for capture

2010-01-08 Thread TJ
Pete and anybody else out there with go7007 devices, what do you use for
capture?

Without GO7007 ioctls, I was only able to get vlc to capture in MJPEG format.

Yes, this would be a good use case clk_add_alias()

So I guess that's not going to work. I have read in
wiki that Hauppauge cards needs ir-kbd-i2c, so I tried with that too, but
then similar error like previous happens when I try 'modprobe ir-kbd-i2c

Can I have a little pointer what to do?

[Hiremath, Vaibhav] Hi Kevin and Murali,

Sorry for jumping into this discussion so late,

Can we use clk_add_alias() function exported by clkdev.c file here? With this
board specific file can define aliases for all required platform_data keeping
CLK() entry generic.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

Hi,

Please refer to the XCEIVE document.
And set the correct SCODE.

 Hi,
    The following codes in the 6MHz patch are not for 6MHz.
    Please read the mchehab's comments.

    1.38 -              if (((priv->cur_fw.type & DTV7) &&
    1.39 -                   (priv->cur_fw.scode_table & (ZARLINK456 |

    1.40 -                  ((priv->cur_fw.type & DTV78) && freq <

    1.41 +              if ((priv->cur_fw.type & DTV78) && freq <
>> 47000)
    1.42                        offset -= 50;
    BTW, the DTV7 firmware or DTV78 firmware is using if you are tuning
