Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Try to make a conclusion for lxsession-logout and screen locking.
No, your script didn't do the right thing. If gnome-screensaver is not running, gnome-screen-saver-command shouldn't be called. If you do this, gnome-screen-saver will be launched, but nothing will happen. At the same time it's possible that the user is actually running xscreensaver. If the user is running xscreensaver, and you call gnome-screensaver-command, this will result in gnome-screensaver being launched and xscreensaver being bypassed, which is just the wrong behavior. Checking if the screensaver is currently running is necessary. Relying on failure of their *-command programs is not a reliable solution. That's why your script is not used directly. Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] virtualbox
Hi, As far as I recall, it is suggested that you have at least 1GB of RAM to run VB, as you need to allocate RAM solely to that programme and then the system you wish to run. I was recommended to have 2GB to allow for the overheads, using less than 1GB can really thrash your swap area, and even with how lean Lubuntu is, you'd be pushing VB to have lubuntu, VB and a.n. other operating system all running within 512MB. The Community Documentation on VB can be found at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VirtualBox Regards, Phill. [Lubuntu-desktop] logging bot
Ah well, you may recall at the end of July I asked for peoples views on having a log-bot on the IRC channel, and the replies were get it done. It seems my application got lost in the system somewhere, so I've re-applied and have been told about 7 days for it to go through. Sorry for the delay, one of the others I was chatting to said it took 3 requests and 3 months to get his - so we're not doing too badly :p Regards, Phill. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop Post to : lubuntu-desktop@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-desktop More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] Try to make a conclusion for lxsession-logout and screen locking.
The features mentitioned in this mail is implemanted in "lock" branch now. Please test if it works as expected. If there are no obvious problems and objections, I'd like to merge it to master branch to be included in the latest release of lxsession. http://lxde.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=lxde/lxsession;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/lock Thank you all. Re: [Lubuntu-desktop] iso lubuntu 10.10
Hi, The iso's that Julien hosts (gilir) 'fall off the server' after about a week, I keep them all on my server area, the current beta one can be found via https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/Testing and selecting the Secondary Server option. I do get that area updated within a day of Julien releasing a new iso. Regards, Phill.
