Re: Problems with bibliography generation
The only problem I can see in the malformed BIB file. It does not load into BibDesk on the Mac. The clean one does, and works perfectly with the LyX file. If a BIB file can't be found, browse for it which has always worked for me. el On 14/03/2019 17:28, Daniel wrote: > On 14/03/2019 16:03, Daniel wrote: >> On 14/03/2019 15:28, Harold Mouras wrote: >>> Dear Users, excuse if this is a silly question. Then some strange dummy bibliography is used instead. Maybe these entries have been used for testing? I have always the bib file in the same directory as the lyx file and had never any problems. Is this perhaps under windows? Wolfgang I think it was a chain of unfortunate circumstances. The provided bib file was could not be read by LyX and it fell back on a file with the same name in my path. Daniel

Thank you very much for your help Best regards, Harold First, there is no problem with using a .bib file parked in the same directory as the .lyx file. Second, Daniel and John are correct about the malformed bibliography file, and Daniel's corrected version works properly. Third, there's a mismatch between the citation style specified in Document > Settings... > Bibliography (Natbib author-year) and the bibliography style specified in the bibliography inset (plain). Change the latter to plainnat and you should be in business. Paul
Re: Problems with bibliography generation
I think the first thing you need to try is adding the Natbibapa module. It is not there in the MWE that you sent. Re the Biblio.bib file. I am no expert but I have never seen so many \ in a bib file. For example at the end of an entry I see \}\ \ where I would expect }. Have a look at the attached bibtest.bib file vs your Biblio.bib to see what I mean. I got the bibtest.bib file to work with your .lyx file after installing the Natbibapa module. See the attached Bib.example.lyx and check settings as I may have made another change and not documented it. Not sure whether this is how it is supposed to work though. Daniel
