Re: [Mac-access]: Selecting columns and rows in Numbers.
Continuing with Numbers, Can somebody lead me in how to handle combined cells inside a Numbers table? There is a combined cell which I can’t work with, Thanks for your help! As for VoiceOver still announcing hidden columns, this is only if you use the VO keys to navigate. If you just navigate using the arrow keys alone, as is generally the better option, then VoiceOver will only announce the visible rows and columns. This is the same when you filter your tables: navigating with VO keys will not appear any different, but if you navigate with the arrow keys alone you’ll only see the filtered rows and columns. Using VO keys to navigate can get you into mischief as the VoiceOver cursor selects invisible cells, but the keyboard cursor does not, and this can lead to undesired results. --- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net --- To reply to this post, please address your message to mac-access@mac-access.net You can find an archive of all messages postedto the Mac-Access forum at the list's public Mail Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/. Re: [Mac-access]: text expander question
thanks. I was asking about actually creating the macros in text expander. the dorections say to click the more arrow after you select text but I tried this and it did not work. Re: [Mac-access]: text expander question
Ok, to add to text expander, I'm trying the free demo and loving it. Now I want to know this. Can I not have the app running but still have my texts expand? I hate having a app in my alt tab order if it is going to sit there and do nothing. If not that's fine but still. Re: [Mac-access]: Selecting columns and rows in Numbers.
Sean, Phil answered you pretty comprehensively. What part are you unclear about? Daniel, in what way aren’t you able to work with them? If you navigate with just the arrow keys, VoiceOver will announce which cells are merged, but will not announce their contents. If you navigate with the VO keys to the top left most cell in the merged block, VoiceOver will read the contents. To work with or edit these merged cells you can just use your normal editing commands.
Not that I know of. If you find a way, however, please let me know. Maybe it’s worth writing to the developer and requesting. I know that other apps can log your keystrokes without having the application window running (e.g. Keyboard Maestro). I think the app uses demons or something to do it, or completely invisible apps like iTunes helper or whatever it’s called.
