Re: port upgrade outdated woes continued ... now help2man wont upgrade

2010-11-19 Thread Gregory Dodwell
Andrea, thanks for your prompt reply.

Here's the output for port -v installed p5-locale-gettex command:

The following ports are currently installed:
  p5-locale-gettext @1.05_0
  p5-locale-gettext @1.05_3 (active) platform='darwin 10' archs='x86_64'

And here's my $PATH echoed:

/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/texbin:/usr/X11/bin

the identical command on xterm (as opposed to the OSX Terminal.app):

/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/texbin:/usr/X11/bin:/usr/X11/bin

Ryan, thanks for your suggestion re searching archives. They may be on to
something re cruft in /usr/local/bin
which may or may not be essential to some other installations I have made
previously ...

Thanks again for the prompt replies.

cmake upgrade failure/success ?machine-dependant...

2010-11-18 Thread Gregory Dodwell
OSX 10.6.5 upgraded to latest Macports successfully on both machines (iMac
7,1; MacBookPro5,3).
Ran sudo port upgrade outdated with no failure on laptop. Same command
failed on iMac. (The iMac, being an older, non "Pro" machine cannot run OSX
in 64bit mode, despite similar Core2 Duo processor to laptop.)

Here's the terminal output:

Gnucash crashes on launch: no, I don't have mesa

2009-03-25 Thread Gregory Dodwell
OSX 10.5.6 "Leopard" on Intel iMac
Xquartz 2.3.2

Latest MacPorts: version 1.700
trying to run after installation today:

Here's me: /opt/local/bin/gnucash-bin

In reply a partially drawn splash for a couple of seconds then:

gnc.bin-Message: main: binreloc relocation support was disabled at configure
time.

gnucash hangs

2008-07-16 Thread Gregory Dodwell
Just installed darwinports/macports 1.60, latest Xcode (3.1) OSX 10.5.4,
Xquartz 2.2.3 ...
trying to launch gnucash 2.2.5, the splash hangs at "getting data", any
other activated OSX or X11 application in its space is unable to "get in
front of" the splash ... indeed, I need to manually activate Spaces to
switch to other running programs in different spaces instead of just
clicking on their Dock icons as usual.

I tried removing ~/.gnucash ... no difference. Updating to the latest
Xquartz has not helped either ... any clues?

Re: KDE wont build

2007-11-27 Thread Gregory Dodwell
Sorry about the sloppiness.

OSX 10.5.1
XCode 3.0
Latest MacPorts version (1.520)

Intel Core 2 Duo (iMac 20", 2.4GHz)

I don't have the expertise to tell if the error is the same ...
I had to manually download several files that wouldn't
"fetch".
