Hello Brian,

We came across a similar problem of settings not sticking in Sierra this 
weekend with a student of ours. Reinitialising the PRAM fixed the problem.
If you’re not familiar with this procedure, here’s what to do.
Shut down your Mac, then hold down the following keys: Command, Option, letter 
‘p’ and letter ‘r’. With these four keys held down, press once on the Power 
button. Keep the four keys held down until you’ve heard the start up chime four 
times. Your Mac will then boot normally.

Hi all

Yes, Youtube is fully accessible on the mac using the stock Safari browser. No 
third party app is needed or anything, not even stupid Flash. I say hats off 
and can’t wait to show my girlfriend and list member Hannah Youtube on her 
first mac.

VoiceOver Verbosity Problems

I’m running the latest release of MacOS Sierra, and I’m running into a bit of a 
problem with the default verbosity settings.  For what ever reason, VoiceOver 
seems to be stuck in the high-verbosity setting.  I’ve tried  changing it to 
low, but VO keeps reading and chattering away in the high verbosity mode.  When 
I go back into the VO Utility, it still shows that it’s set to low, but for 
what ever reason, VO doesn’t seem to know that any setting has changed.

I’ve tried turning VO off, and then back on again, re-booting the Mac, 
restoring the VO defaults in the VO Utilities, and even loading some completely 
different settings from my wife’s account.  At this point, nothing seems to 
work.  Any and all help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I do not believe that there is a generic key or method which will stop 
all web videos playing.  It depends on what plug in or web element 
Safari is using to play the video.



If it is in Youtube, and if you have quick nav turned off, then K should 
work providing that window is in focus.



If it is another web video player you may have to search for control 
elemtns / buttons on the page. In some circumstances you may simply have 
to close the page to stop a video playing.

Hi Simon.  I just remember  that in order to remove an application using El 
capitan, you need to put focus on the application with Voiceover, then perform 
a VO shift m, and you need to find options sub menu, select that,and you will

video? That is a shortcut key in ordr to stop a video in youtube. Hope this

Web player shortcuts.

Hi!
Here in Sweden we have for our purpose as a blind community a webbased 
daisyplayer.
This makes it very easy to just put the daisy book from the Library directly 
into the player and read.
However there are some shortcuts that does not work well on the mac.
So what i was thinking of was if it would be possible to create an activity or 
commander to for example point on the play/pause button and press that button.
Should i use hotspots or should i use commander or activities?
Not sure here whats the best so any suggestions are welcome.

Hi,

In some Dock items, the Remove option is directly within the Contextual menu, 
but in many, there will be an item named Options, go right to access its 
sub-menu then Remove from Dock or Keep in Dock will be there.

I’m using Sierra, but this shouldn’t make any difference.

1. Focus on the app you wish to remove.

2. Press vo-shift-m to open the contextual menu.

3. An option to remove should be in there.

I just tested it and it seems to work when I am in the table with all my songs. 
I tried to adjust the volume with a song which was not in my library and was 
something I just searched up in apple music. Cmd l is the command to bring 
focus to the currently playing song.

You can also use Siri to accomplish this that is of course if you are using 
Sierra. Simply tell Siri to invert colors on, or invert colors off.

   Easy, Select the app, vo shift m, select options then enter on 
remove from dock. Don't forget that the context menu is almost always 
available.

Hi Simon,

Just go to the item you want to remove and open the shortcut menu (VO-Shift-M) 
and choose remove from dock.  I think there's a shortcut key for this, but 
can't remember what it is.

Could someone please remind me how to remove applications from the dock within 
Mac OSX el capitan?

Adding them isn't an issue it's remembering how to remove them I've forgotten.

That's interesting,

 I use iBooks for all my e books and or audio books and I can't say I've 
noticed this in iBooks when reading something with a URL in the content.

 I've been reading a tech manual for windows server 2012R2  and didn't have 
this happening 
 I'll have to check my powershell manual as well and see what happens.

This is not a new bug here. It has been going on ever since I have been using 
ibooks, but I'll send in another report. I do the same as you when reading
