Re: question to ask all of all of you

2013-05-14 Thread Israel Antonio
Becky,

I know of two ways in which you can save files in other formats so others can
read it.

when ready to save, you can press Command+Shift+s and you can arrow through to
save in Word format.

You can also call up menu bar in Pages, navigate to "file" then arrow down to
"Export." When you choose Export you'll be given 5 choices of formats in which
you save your file. PDF, RTF, Word, Plain Text, and EPub. Select which one
you want then select "next" I believe is the option which takes you to another
page to save in whichever name you wish to give your file.

I believe that is correct. If not, someone on this list can correct me if
I've given inaccurate or incomplete instructions. I hope that helps.

Voiceover and Training Peaks

2013-04-08 Thread Israel Antonio
Hi Listers,

I was wondering if any users of Voiceovers have successfully used the Training
Peaks web site to log your workouts, meals, and receive coaching?

A friend who is a pro triathlete/coach suggested I set up a free account, which
I did. Prior to registering, I played with the site activating various links
to plans, athletes, coaches, articles, blog, and support. all seemed
accessible with VO. I had difficulty signing up but that was more on my end
and not VO inaccessibility. I received e-mail confirmation and followed
instructions to find my friend's group plans, and seemed to be okay until I
went back to log into the site later on which is when I discovered that upon
logging in, I am not able to access my profile or training plans. Instead I'm
taken to a site where VO tells me that the html is empty. The only other
information which VO reads is to tell me the version of Training Peaks.

I went through the links to reach someone at TP support and managed to fill out
all required information until the very last step which was a visual captcha.
there was an option for an audio captcha, but each time I entered what I heard,
I was told what I entered was incorrect. I did notice a separate form, which I
filled out, if one is having trouble with the captchas to inform TP staff. I
have not heard back.

I did find a Training Peaks mobile site, but it actually seemed more
complicated than the TP main site. There is a TP app for the iPhone which I've
not yet tried but that might be my next attempt if I can't resolve this issue.
Hoping if someone has successfully used the site, you can tell me what I might
be doing wrong which will enable me to access the TP information I need.

Thank you.

Israel

Re: Facebook Chat with VoiceOver

2013-02-27 Thread Israel Antonio
Harry,

I can't give any suggestion on FB or chat clients however, I use Voiceover
exclusively with FB chat on the main site and it works well. It helps that
each time someone starts a chat with you, you'll receive an audio signal. If
you move VO focus away from the FB chat area and you're reading or writing
something at a different part of the site, you'll always receive said audio cue
letting you know person has responded to your chat message or that someone has
begun a new chat with you.

For the most part, friends start chats with me. It use to be easier to start
chats prior to about a year ago when there was a list of every person online at
the time. Each link was labeled a friend's name and you could simply clicked
to activate any link you wanted within the list and a new chat window would
open up right there with an option just below, I seem to recall, for when you
wish to close the window.

Nowadays, I still see the list of links labels Friends On Chat however to whom
each link corresponds is not labeled. However, just before the list begins,
there is a link which reads Show Sidebar. If you activate that link and move
VO to the bottom of the FB page, there you can find a list of links with your
friends who are online or whether they are idol but still logged in. You can
move through this clearly labeled list and pick the friend with whom you wish
to chat. When you click on the name, a new chat window opens and you can begin
to chat.

I hope that helps should you wish to chat on the main FB site with Voiceover.

Re: word count

2013-02-22 Thread Israel Antonio
Lisette,

The only way I've found to get a word count for my Text Edit documents is by
writing and saving in Text Edit, but then when I wish to get a word count, I
open that same document in Pages, navigate the Inspector until I see where it
says Word Count and get my count there. I do not know if this helps or if it's
too cumbersome, but just an idea.

Re: Something weird in iTunes 11.02

2013-02-20 Thread Israel Antonio
Lisette,

I noticed that too. I played with iTunes searching for a way to change that,
but no luck so far. Even podcasts which I've not yet downloaded are marked as
unplayed as well as being labeled undownloaded.
