Re: Which MacBook To Buy?
Debra, I have the 13 Macbook Pro 2.25 ghz (the $1199 one) and its' trackpad does work with Voiceover. I've not quite gotten used to all the Trackpad Commander functions though. Hope this helps. I have been looking at the 13.3 inch model with the 2.5 ghz speed processor. It seems the Macbook pro is lighter weighing only 4.5 pounds. Are their other differences between the two? Can I use the track pad with VoiceOver? Also are these 64 bit or 32 bit machines? I would really like to buy the right model the first time! Thanks for any advice. Debra Egun On, Lagunak! Re: Which MacBook To Buy?
UM, WELL TEY WILL BOTH BE 64 BIT MACHINES. THEY WILL BOTH HAVE MULTI TOUCH TRACK PAD. THE MBP WILL HAVE A FIRE WIRE BUT THE STANDARD WON'T. THE MBP USED TO HAVE MARGINALLY BETTER SOUND THOUGH THAT MAY HAVE CHANGED SINCE THE ALUMINUM MODELS CAME OUT. THE MBP USED TO HAVE DEDICATED VIDEO MEMORY, BUT THE NEW 13 INCH MAY BE USING SHARED MEMORY. DEDICATED VIDEO MEMORY PERFORMS JUST A BIT BETTER, THOUGH ON TODAY'S SYSTEMS IT'S LIKELY YOU WOULDN'T NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE. HOPE THIS HELPS. erik burggraaf A+ sertified technician and user support consultant. RE: Which MacBook To Buy?
Hello Debra, Well, I am by no means a Mac expert but I can tell you, without reservation, that the MacBook Pro 13 inch notebook is one of the finest pieces of technology I have ever owned. The built-in multi-touch track pad is one of the most compelling reasons for VoiceOver users to select it. A multi-touch track pad device is a must-have for any iPhone 3GS user. Good luck and congratulations on whatever you choose.
