RE: iPhone headset recommendations

2016-11-18 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Janine,

I have the lightening headphones and I can't say I've noticed anything but
then I haven't thought to really concentrate on the audio quality.

But hey can always be a good thing to try.

Also I find my Bose headphones have a bit more base to them. Pricey but may be
worth a look!

I generally really like the Apple earpods and the design is fairly good in my
ears. I am losing some low frequency hearing though and as a good bit of my job
involves phone calls, I need to maximize my listening ability on said phone.
Granted the best headset in the world isn’t going to make someone else’s crappy
cell phone sound any better but at least I can try.

I’m considering buying a pair of the lightning earpods as I hear the base is
fuller on them.

Re: iPhone headset recommendations

2016-11-17 Thread Saqib Hussain
Hi. I use the Sony SBH60 Bluetooth stereo headset and it’s good for calls and
has plenty of base which is good for listening to EDM. They also supply a 3.5m
audio code so you can plug your headset in when the battery dies. Battery life
is good with 10 hours of playback time.

I can help you with everything but the base adjustment. On the cordless side,
the Plantronics Voyager 5220 is a fantastic headset with the best noise
cancelation I’ve used so far and that’s saying something because plantronics
has kick ass sound cancelation in their products for a long time now. The
battery life is good, lots of audio queues and they have a UC model that can

RE: iPhone headset recommendations

2016-11-16 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Janine,

What is wrong with the apple headphones for your mobile?

I use mine all the time for phone calls and music etc if I need to shut myself
away from life in general.

Hi, I actually use that headset also, though the microphone is sketchy for
phone calls. I have the corded model. I had one of the original Aftershokz
bluetooth models but the power port died fairly early on.

Re: iPhone headset recommendations

2016-11-16 Thread Scott Granados
I’m not sure about the black wire but I would also add the lEgend to the list
of plantronics devices. The legend is just about as good as the 5220 but may
be found a bit cheaper because it’s been a work horse model for several years
now.

I would think the black wire o would be a fine option though. I love their
products and like I say if they were good enough for Neil Armstrong they
definitely are good enough for me.;)

Thanks for this info. I was talking to a support person at Plantronix who also
recommended that very model as well as a lower end one, the Black Wire 315.
Anyone used that model?

Both of these are on my Black Friday shopping list to look at.

Re: iPhone headset recommendations

2016-11-16 Thread Todor Fassl
I use a headset from Aftershokz. They are bone-conduction which means
they don't cover your ears. I was getting a lot of ear infections and I
thought maybe it was because my ears were covered for 8 hours a day.
Plus I was worried about the effect headphones had on my hearing. That's
not scientific. I know of no studies that show that wearing headphones
over your ears damages your hearing. But I figure bone conduction is
less likely to have an effect because the sound is not trapped in your
ear canal. Anyway, the big problem with this headset is that it has a
battery. It is a rechargeable battery built into the chord. That has two
problems, the chord has extra weight to it and you have to periodically
recharge the headset. You can recharge them while using them but it
makes an annoying buzzing sound. The rechargeable battery is pretty
small and it is designed to clip onto your collar so it is tolerable.
All in all, I would probably buy another headset like this if this one
broke. But it is not ideal. It does have a volume control but not a
bass/treble control.

I also have an Aftershokz bluetooth headphone, without a microphone.
That actually is really nice. It also has a battery but you'd expect
that. The battery life is really long and the sound quality is way
better thanI expected. As I said, this is just a pair of headphone but I
would think the bluetooth headset by the same company would pretty much
be the same thing only with a microphone attach.

Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention when this thread came up earlier but now I
have a need for a specific type of headset.

I use my iPhone 6S for work calls and I need a good headset, money being a
minimal concern here, that has both a volume control separate from the phone
and a control for bass/trebel.

I’d take a bluetooth recommendation but prefer wired for this situation.

Thanks.
