Hi all,

I would want names of the companies in India and Australia which are
developing some applications on Maemo.

 Hi All.

I have found very strange behavior of desktop widget after upgrade
of the package in beta-SDK for Fremantle. After upgrade I see *two*
alike widgets on the hildon-desktop. After restarting hildon-home I see
only one widget. I have used the example-desktop-widget package for test.

Is this a bug or a feature ?

 Vlad.

Mind to elaborate why you think this might be a feature? :)

I have only beta SDK. And I don't know how it will work in real
 Fremantle OS on real device.

I tried it both ways. The same thing happens even when I select x86
mode. The whole thing goes down just when I click on the Menu button.

2007-03-21 Thread Alma Prlja

Hi,

I have created an application for Nokia 770
using pygtk and glade. I tested it in the scratchbox and it all work
well. Then I tried to install the app_arm.deb file on the Nokia 770
and that also went well. The problem is that the application doesn't
start on the Nokia. I think that it must be the link to the .glade
file or something. When I create the deb package I have 6 files
app.py
app.glade
app.service
app.desktop
Makefile
setup.py
in setup file I put the files in these directories
('share/applications/hildon', [ 'dbc.desktop' ]),
('share/dbc', [ 'dbc.glade' ]),
('share/dbus-1/services', [ 'dbc.service' ])
In the .service and .desktop files I put the Exec file in
/usr/bin/app
and in the .py file I connect the python code with the glade file with
/usr/share/app/app.glade
What changes do I have to do to get the application running on Nokia 770?

Best regards
Alma

Hi Alma,

Have you tried to run your application from terminal? I think it will
show some more information.

Hi David,

I am not subscribe to maemo-developer/Nokia 770 developer list. I am
just reading.

I found this (below)

I think this is you are looking.

Any one knows how to add a serial port to the Nokia770. I am trying to
debug the device and it is very hard with out any output.

I have noticed an 11 pins conector (pad) in the battery compartment of
the device, is their any chance that some of those pins are for serial
port?

Here's what I've found via experimentation.

1-2-3-4-5-6
-7-8-9-A-B-

Pin 9 is RxD (Nokia receive input) and pin A is TxD (Nokia transmit
output). These are the third and second pins from the right towards the
battery, respectively.

I used the metal shield as a ground. The outputs are evidently 3.3v - I
used a USB-mobile phone cable as described in
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/AddASerialPort and
http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/66/47/ to connect to the device.

I enabled the RD mode and set the serial console flag and connected via
8N1,115200.

I don't know of a suitable connector - I used a couple of stiff wires
held in place with electrical tape.

I just want to add a data point here: You don't mention which
version of Python for Series 60 was used here, but that figure
looks like it's from the 1.0 release. Some tweaks were made
after that, and the 1.1.5fast build got 685 pystones on a
6630, which matches the results from the 770. The 6630 also
has a 220 MHz processor, but I don't know which ARM version it is.
