Do what I did for v2.0.8. After installing mailman do a chmod g-w ~mailman AFAIK nothing writes to the top level mailman directory after the installation. All writing is done to subdirectories. I hope this is still true in 2.1. I have looked through sendmail for the ‘DontBlameSendmail’ issue but I don’t want to give up on security to fix this problem. I checked my permissions and everything is just according to the mailman documentation. How can I take care of this problem without having to compromise security ?
