Re: [libreoffice-marketing] Forums? (was: Nabble: friend or foe?)

2012-09-24 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
Yes, i agree that having 2 different methods of communicating would probably
fragment the community.  I hadn't thought about it.  It might be that the
community is large enough that it could allow such fragmentation without much
ill effect?  Sometimes personality clashes happen that would be solved by one
person moving to the other part of the group.

At the moment we have emailing lists that can be read in a forum(ish) style by
using Nabble.  Ubuntu has forums (fora? forii?) that send posts by email to
those subscribed.

Tom :)

[libreoffice-marketing] Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: python reading calc

2012-09-24 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
Lol!
+1

He does a good job of
1.  Putting people off LO and sending them scurrying back to MSO and others
2.  Giving them technically correct answers
Have you seen "House"?

I wonder if that's why user-support for most companies is split into various
tiers?  2nd and 3rd tier having far less contact with clients in their average
day-to-day but still getting all the juicy problems that few others can
handle.

We are just putting together a new "Donations" page. I would like to add
more photos to the SilverStripe "photoshuffler" that you see on the
page.[1]

Would any groups have photos that we could use with the "PhotoShuffler".
We need shots of conferences where LibreOffice had a booth, table etc;
classes; photos of LibreOffice meeting on bug fixing dates; etc. Action
shots are great!

If you have photos to contribute, make sure that you have appropriate
permissions to publish these on our site. I am not sure how strict we
should be about this, but permissions from people appearing in these
shots may be important especially in cases where some person is a
central figure in the photo (our laws in Canada are pretty strict with
respect to this).

It would be nice if we had photos from different language groups.

Photo size: does not matter, SilverStripe will take care of scaling the
image. See more information on this page[2]

Get your teams photo on our photoshuffler and get some recognition. Who
knows, it may make you famous!!! [grin] I love that shot of Italo![1]

Cheers,

Marc

Still looking for some photos to include on the PhotoShuffler. It
would be nice to get photos from active groups participating in the
project?

Cheers,
