GNOME Release Process graphic on gnome.org
I forwarded Andreas Nilsson's graphic of the GNOME release process ( http://www.andreasn.se/blog/?p=93). http://www.andreasn.se/blog/?p=93 They really liked it and Stefan Kost from Nokia suggested that we put it on gnome.org. I was thinking maybe at the top of this page, http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/2.24/, as that's where you land when you click on the Latest Release tab on the home page. Thoughts? Re: Launching New Friends of GNOME: need review for two sentences for gnome.org
Awesome, Andreas. Thanks. I was thinking we could show these on the screen after people have donated, saying here's a badge for your website. I was wondering if we could make one with the heart/foot that everyone likes so much in sticker form? One small thing, the sponsor one isn't centered, or has a lot of white space to the right of the words. The release notes describe what's new in 2.24.0, while andreas' graphic describes the process to 2.26.0. I'd either add this to the Looking Forward to GNOME 2.26 section at http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/2.24/ , or directly to the wikipage at http://www.gnome.org/start/unstable/ . andre -- mailto:ak...@gmx.net | failed http://www.iomc.de/ | http://blogs.gnome.org/aklapper -- marketing-list mailing list marketing-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/marketing-list

Kalle: do you know if it's possible to transfer this to the thank-you.html page with php somehow? I was wondering if we could make one with the heart/foot that everyone likes so much in sticker form? Sure, added a banner for it to the updated package. One small thing, the sponsor one isn't centered, or has a lot of white space to the right of the words. Correct, the words are left aligned, did this as most of the elements on the website are left aligned. New package with the banners: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/184285/fog-banners.tar.gz (Nautilus complains about some dbus crap, so I'll post it here instead for now). - Andreas Stormy On Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 5:03 AM, Andreas Nilsson nisses.m...@home.se mailto:nisses.m...@home.se wrote: Stormy Peters wrote: Hi Marketing folks, We're launching the New Friends of GNOME page and we need a couple of sentences for gnome.org http://gnome.org http://gnome.org and a small paragraph to go out in an email to press. It is also rumored that they are rather sloppy. In this case I think it was the latter. :) Fixed in the updated version I replied to Stormy. - Andreas -- marketing-list mailing list marketing-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/marketing-list

2009/1/12 Stormy Peters sto...@gnome.org: skip I think that transparency about how this money is used is necessary. What about anticipating donors - if this is the case - that you will be publishing detailed financial yearly reports? Everything's public right now. We should put a link to it ... I just checked http://foundation.gnome.org/finance/ and it seems not updated. skip What about publicly state next year goals and objectives? That is on the new website and I think it's obvious. At http://foundation.gnome.org/about/ only 2006 annual report is available. Maybe the new website is another one?
