We voted early (last Fri) in NC. Zero line. Walked right up to the check-in station and the lady handed me a ballot as soon as I stated my name and address and I signed. I would have preferred they verify my ID, but a some judge said that would be racist. The totals aren't quite in, but the turnout was clearly less than I expected. While many came out to vote against their chosen greater evil, many more refused to show up and vote for their chosen lesser evil. There wasn't even a line at 9am and I was the 143rd voter after the polls had been open two hours (and I think the poll workers vote before 7am). When I checked 2008 to find out how badly Donald beat Barack, I was surprised to find that Barack got 69 million. Dimitri, since the Canadian immigration website crashed, I am unable to move north of the Border. However, since Hillary won 2 to 1 in your state of Massachusetts, I am moving up there to be among kindred spirits. Well, Obama blamed Bush for the last 8 years, so I guess The Don can adopt the same approach. Then the next one along can do the same... you know, politics. As I told my very diverse groups of agitator friends this morning, whatever our views on yesterday's larger world events, we are all still united around our love for our homes and each other, and that, ultimately, is what matters in our journey. --R On 11/9/16 11:15 AM, OK Don via Mercedes wrote: Now that the R's own the house, senate, and white house, who are they going to blame? We did not Make America Great Again, we merely decided its downfall is no longer guaranteed. To me, the really great news is that if Trump keeps one promise, and a Republican majority Senate doesn't ruin it for him, I get to die of natural causes or at worst accident, rather than as somebody too old to fight well in a civil war of Hillary's making. Hillary told us that parts of the Bill of Rights meant "Power of the Government" in places where it said "Right of the People", Stephen Breyer (who was among the nine who voted for the individual right in DC v Heller) said she was right, and she promised to stack the Supreme Court with more Justices who would make it happen. Trump has released a list of possible judicial nominees, and promised to choose Justices from that list. If that happens, the Supreme Court will continue to defend the Constitution for the foreseeable future, and we won't be fighting a civil war to reinstate that Constitution in my lifetime (I'm already in my 50s) if it's never overthrown by the likes of Breyer.
