[MMouse]: conan and the mouse
saw most of this episode (august 5th), though i admittedly did not watch it until the very end . . . a comedienne appeared with about 10 minutes (or less) left in the show - usually the time a band comes on. . . i also didn't hear any mention of the mouse in the beginning when they mentioned the evening's guests . . . also, i can't find a mention of the mouse being on the show anywhere on the late night website. . . am i on crack, or were they not on? star

i was sort of making a joke about modest mouse on conan. i guess i have a highly personal and somewhat stupid sense of humor. judging from my full mailbox, i guess a lot of people took me seriously. i apologize for misleading anyone, and i assure you that my tongue was firmly in my cheek. but now that i think about it, i think Isaac and the fellers would be very amusing guests on Conan, if they got to sit by the desk and talk. and if they got pooped on by the poop-on dog. http://www.umd.umich.edu/~bilr/underground.htm ___ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. [MMouse]: conan/blair witch
modest mouse on conan. the ONE night that i don't watch late night tv. that just figures. i saw blair witch tonight. i thought it was really good and i was pretty freaked out, but then i came home and heather was on the tonight show. i thought with all the hype of it being "real" and stuff that they would at least keep the actors out of the public eye for a while. apparently not. sort of off the subject, i HATE this whole uptight thing that the movie theaters have going on now. i tried to take my 15 yr old sister to blair witch, and they weren't going to let me in. i figured an almost 20 yr old person is adult enough to "accompany" an under 17 person to an R rated movie. but i found out that in movie world, adult equals 21. i did get us in, but only after a bunch of talking/lying/sucking up to the manager of the theater. i thought the whole thing was pretty ridiculous. love, hezi p.s. modest mouse in chicago!! i'll be there the 15-17th...too bad i won't be there for the show. ___ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. [MMouse]: MM recording - from perishable records dispatch
a mouse in the house modest mouse is arriving in Chicago august 16th to begin work on a new lp, their third (this one for epic record) at the new facilities at clava studios. brian deck will be producing and engineering at clava's new digs. the studio has settled in to its permanent space next door to perishable's south side offices in the shadows of comiskey park and the Illinois institute of technology campus, forming a media complex of a kind not seen in the Bridgeport neighborhood sinceever. next time you see an aerial TV shot of a white sox home game, look for modest mouse's Isaac Brock staggering around in the area to the north of the ballpark. **note: the mouse have ben booked to play the empty bottle (www.emptybottle.com) august 24

In a message dated 99-08-06 02:32:02 EDT, you write: << it seems that the only reason it is successful is because of the hype that makes people unconsciously convince themselves that it is a good and scary movie. >> Think about what you're saying...when has "hype" ever made anything good?

[MMouse]: Blair Witch...
I agree that Blair Witch Project didn't scare me at all while I was actually watching it, but ever since seeing it I've been afraid of the dark & the night again... and it's been probably a decade since I was actually afraid of anything in the dark besides muggers... Thought it was an excellent movie, xtremely realistic & "well-done". The fact that I wasn't scared at the time didn't detract from enjoyment. I've never watched a horror movie to "get scared"; no movie has scared me since seeing Alien when I was like 8. np:Him, "Cereality" -- ...extensive liner notes and make-believe alien languages...
