Perhaps you want to save some white and lost hair to other kosh users and inform the person who created that perl that they need to create that symlink and not leave it for users to figure out. Any application embedding perl will have this problem, and not only mod_perl. perl -V [...] gnulibc_version='2.3.2' find a file called libperl.so.5.8.2 probably living under /usr/local/lib/perl find /usr/local/lib/perl | grep libperl.so.5.8.2 or /usr/lib/perl5, or anywhere else.
